While many of our students were beginning their summer break, our Year 12 ESS students were embarking on an unforgettable expedition to South Africa.
During this incredible journey, they supported vital local conservation initiatives and collaborated on meaningful, hands-on CAS projects.
The experiences and knowledge they gained will enrich their IB Biology and Environmental Systems & Societies studies, bringing classroom learning to life through real-world exploration.
An unforgettable adventure filled with learning, service and discovery.

Huge congratulations to our 87 Year 13 students! We could not be prouder of the IB Diploma results achieved by the Class of 2026, a cohort that has shown exactly what hard work and determination can achieve.
The Class of 2026 achieved an average score of 35.2, with a 100% pass rate and 17% of students scoring 40 or above. The world average is 30.9, and the UK average is 35.1.
Behind every number lies months of effort, resilience and hard work. We know what it took to get here: the early mornings, the late nights, and the sheer persistence shown by this group of young people. Behind them every step of the way were our teachers, families, and wider school community, who have championed these students throughout their time with us.
Many university offers have already been confirmed: in the UK at Bath, King’s College London, Oxford, UCL and Warwick, and around the world at Amsterdam, Bocconi, Chicago, Hong Kong, McGill and UC Berkeley. To our students taking up places in Portugal and in countries where offers follow national results: we are every bit as proud of you, and we look forward to sharing your news in September.
To our graduating class, well done. You should be proud of everything you have achieved. Go forward with confidence, knowing that St. Julian's will always be behind you.

Yesterday, we held our annual Poetry Slam, organised by the English Department. It was incredible to witness the creativity, courage, and raw talent of our students and staff as they took to the stage to share their original spoken word pieces.
Earlier in the day, students also took part in a Writers’ Workshop with Michael Donkor, exploring storytelling, developing ideas, and finding new ways to express their voices - making the Poetry Slam an even more meaningful celebration of creativity.

Yesterday, we were honoured to welcome HRH The Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, to St. Julian's as part of his official visit to Portugal.
The Duke met a group of Year 9/8º ano students who volunteer alongside adults from , a local charity supporting people with intellectual disabilities, one of several community projects our secondary students take part in. He watched a sports demonstration by athletes in judo and boccia, with younger pupils joining in alongside them, and saw a training session of the
Together with our Head Boy and Head Girl, the Duke planted an oak tree in the Headmaster's Garden, a living marker of the day for years to come. He also spent time with our students and from other international schools working towards their Duke of Edinburgh's Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards, hearing about their volunteering and skills projects.
As he left through The Patio, the children gave him a wonderful send-off, a sea of waving flags. It was a proud day for St. Julian’s.
