In the school year 2022/2023 we participated in the Erasmus+ project bearing the name: ’Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’, and that means ’3R!’
The principal objectives of the project were as follows:
disseminating knowledge relevant to the appropriate application, use and recycling of materials, and also to the possible ways of reducing waste quantities
promoting and intensifying international collaboration
exchanging experiences between participants in the project.
The 3R rule – what is that?
3R – is a simple rule of ecological approach to raw materials and energy.
It includes:
reducing the number of packaging and waste quantity,
reusing those which are found to be impossible to be disposed of,
processing raw materials which cannot be reused.
All the rules of 3R are closely connected with one another, and, what also matters, is their order of application. What cannot be reduced, ought to be reused, and, if there is indeed no other alternative, recycled.
What was accomplished at our school in the course of the project?
The activities connected with the project were commenced at the very beginning of the school year 2022/2023, and remained continued to the end of it.
We had an opportunity to collaborate with schools and educational institutions from the following countries:
Germany – ARDA Beratung und Bildung – Berlin – an institution working in the field of collaborating within the scope of European educational projects (https://www.ar-da.de/)
Turkey – M.AKIFERSOYILKOKULU Complex of Schools, Aydın/Efeler (https://aydinmehmetakifersoyio.meb.k12.tr/)
Portugal – Complex of Schools – Lar de D.Pedro – Braga (https://dompedrov.pt/)
In the course of the project, the following meetings were held at partner institutions:
in September 2022 – a training event for teachers in Germany,
in January 2023 – a meeting of students and teachers in Turkey,
in March 2023 – a meeting of students and teachers in Portugal,
in April 2023 – a meeting of students and teachers in Poland.
As well as that, various activities, for instance, art competitions, ecological workshops, collective planting, the exhibitions of photographs or designing a project calendar, were conducted at our school.

A great idea for a Reusable Christmas! 😉

Erasmus+ ’Reduce Reuse Recycle’ Project
The objective of Erasmus+ ’Reduce Reuse Recycle’ Project is to disseminate knowledge about the possibilities of reducing the consumption of natural resources and bringing down the amount of waste, and also about promoting the rules of well-managed recycling.
Participation in the Project also provides an opportunity for intensifying collaboration within European community, and also for exchanging experiences between partner institutions.
The Project will be implemented for the period of 18 months, as of 1st March, 2022, until 1st September, 2023.
Our school is the coordinator (owner) of the entire undertaking, and the following schools are the partners:

- Arda – Beratung und Bildung in Berlin, Germany, an institution involved in collaboration within the scope of European projects,
- the educational institution bearing the name ’Lar D. Pedro V’ in Braga, Portugal, consisting of a nursery school and primary school.
It is planned that numerous local activities, and also meetings in the institutions which are the Project partners, will be conducted in the course of implementing the Project. The training for teachers in Germany will be conducted in September, 2022, whereas the meetings in school to be participated in by teachers and school attendees are scheduled in Turkey for January, in Portugal for March, and also in Poland for April (in every case, of 2023).
The budget of the Project amounts to 60,000 Euro.
