Are you worried your French isn't good enough, and that's why you always switch to English?

Don't worry, I'm here to help. 🤍
Ne t'en fais pas, je suis là pour t'aider. Follow La prof Virginie for your daily dose of French language & culture. And my Speaking Club is your safe place 💗

✨ Curious? If you're a grammar geek like me and want to understand the details:

se faire du souci = to worry (literally: to make oneself worry)
Tu te fais du souci → You worry
Tu ne te fais pas de souci → You don't worry
Ne te fais pas de souci → Don't worry (imperative)

Final French touch 🇫🇷
We drop "de souci" and replace it with the pronoun "en":
Ne t'en fais pas = Don't worry about it

Promise last last touch -> "T'en fais pas" for spoken French!

Your daily dose of French (humour)😅🥖 La prof Virginie

Soo "c***r" literally means "to s**t." But we love to use it in other ways, look at that:

-> Faire c***r (quelqu'un) : to p**s someone off / to be a pain
"Tu me fais c***r !" "You're p**sing me off!" We also use it for things, not just people: "Ça me fait c***r." "That p**ses me off / That's annoying as hell."

-> C'est chiant : it's annoying / it's a pain in the ass
"Le trajet est chiant." "The commute is a pain."

Informal and casual French, can be "chiant" but I have a little guide to help you. Just comment 💩 and I'll send you my Colloquial French Guide!!

Drop a 🇫🇷 in the comments if you already knew all 6, or a 😅 if I sent you back to A1 for a sec! And if you're just start...

Did you know all those meanings?! A bit crazy and confusing so let's recap.

1) Most famous French newspaper . "Le Monde"
2) Ther world (le monde) -> Le monde change très vite. "The world is changing very fast."
3) Everyone (tout le monde) -> Tout le monde a ri. "Everyone laughed."
4) A lot of people (du monde) -> Il y avait du monde dans le métro ce matin. "There were many people in the subway."
5) Pas grand monde (not many people)
Il n’y avait pas grand monde à l’église hier. "There weren't many people at church yesterday."

THE only French wine rule you actually need to remember
LA règle du vin français à connaître (et c'est tout)!

🥂 Vin blanc → l'entrée et le poisson
🍷 Vin rouge → la viande
🌸 Rosé → les pique-niques
🥂 Champagne → les fêtes

Bien sûr, ce n'est qu'une règle... et les règles sont faites pour être transgressées. Amateurs de vin, qu'est-ce que vous en pensez ?
Of course, it's just a rule... and rules are made to be broken . Wine lovers, what do you think? Tell me!

Les expressions rendent ton français plus naturel, elles t'aident à vraiment comprendre les natifs, et franchement ? Elles rendent les conversations tellement plus drôles !! /
Idioms make conversations way more fun!!

Dans mes cours en 1-1 et mes ateliers de conversation, j'utilise des expressions naturellement quand elles me viennent à l'esprit (when they come to my mind), et j'encourage mes étudiants à essayer (to try). S'ils réussissent (if they nait it), c'est super. Si c'est bizarre, on en rigole (we laugh), c'est comme ça qu'on apprend 😁

Qu'est-ce que tu en penses ? / What do you think?

French people think these words are English.
Les Français pensent que ces mots sont anglais... Moi aussi, jusqu'à ce que j'étudie vraiment l'anglais et que je vive en Angleterre pendant mes études. 😅

Je me souviens qu'un jour j'ai dit à une amie : "Let's go footing ?" et elle m'a regardée bizarrement, haha, parce qu'en français on dit "faire du footing," qui veut dire "aller courir / faire un jogging."
