Today is the last official day of the NanoGreen R&D Project.
Thanks to the researchers and students who contributed to the results obtained and the project's overall success (see outputs below). It was an honor to have worked with all of you! Special thanks to the team at the State University of São Paulo, headed by Prof. Denis Abessa and Prof. Cristiane Ottoni, and the company Smallmatek, Small Materials and Technologies, Lda. in the person of Dr. Frederico Maia, who contributed a lot to this project without official funding. A big thank you to the entire Portuguese team from Applee Dbio UA, Departamento de Biologia - Universidade de Aveiro & CESAM - Centro de Estudos do Ambiente e do Mar and CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials.
We will continue working to publish all the results and show you the main contributions to Science and Society.
Stay tunned!

Our MSc student, Mariana Bruni from the State University of São Paulo (Unesp), is finishing her internship at the Universidade de Aveiro (CESAM - Centro de Estudos do Ambiente e do Mar & Departamento de Biologia - Universidade de Aveiro) on the sub-lethal effects of novel anti-corrosion nanomaterials on marine organisms. What a great job!
It was a great pleasure to have you here with us!👏
Thanks to all researchers of the NanoGreen R&D Project who assisted Mariana in her work! 🤝

We are now running an ecotoxicological test on sediments to understand the environmental behaviour and the effects of selected NanoGreen R&D Project products in a polycheate species that inhabits coastal and estuarine sediments accross Europe. This is one of the key activities of the master student Mariana Bruni from Unesp that is doing an internship in the facilities from Applee Dbio UA, CESAM - Centro de Estudos do Ambiente e do Mar & Departamento de Biologia - Universidade de Aveiro to better understand the different ecotoxicological patterns caused by the nanoproducts developed in this project (Smallmatek, Small Materials and Technologies, Lda. and Secop UA/CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials & Departamento de Engenharia de Materiais e Cerâmica - Universidade de Aveiro) in temperate and tropical species.
Well done Mariana and all NANOGREEN team!

Team researchers from the NanoGreen R&D Project participate in the SETAC Europe 33rd Annual Meeting with the following poster communications:
✔️Embriotoxicity of a novel bio-based nanomaterials with anti-corrosion properties on tropical marine species (find Mariana Bruni today at 6.05.P-We405).
✔️Are “smart” engineered nanoclays toxic to zebrafish? (find Diana Carneiro today at 6.05.P-We408).
✔️Envirionmental behavior and hazard of a novel “smart” engineered nanomaterials (find Roberto Martins today at 6.05.P-We412).
✔️”Smart” anti-corrosion nanomaterials: What we know abou them? (find Roberto Martins today at 6.05.P-We413).
Thanks to all involved Researchers in the above-mentioned studies from Applee Dbio UA, CESAM - Centro de Estudos do Ambiente e do Mar & Departamento de Biologia, CICECO-Aveiro Institute of Materials & Departamento de Engenharia de Materiais e Cerâmica from the Universidade de Aveiro and Unesp (NEPEA CLP).
