What’s Surf to me?

👉Surfing is connection. We don’t just connect with the surfboard - we connect with nature, with our minds, with other people and when all of that comes together, the universe gives us the most magical moments we can have! 🌊🤙🏼

What makes this place so special to me?

👉 Aljezur has been a small paradise to me since childhood, and I have now decided to make it my home.
I am Portuguese and grew up in Lisbon, but ever since I started surfing, I have been returning to this area. Today, I try to play an active role in preserving its natural beauty and unique character.

What’s surfing for me?

👉 Surfing for me is an activity like many others that I love to do, just that this one takes me physically to beautiful places and keeps me in shape while having fun. Which doesn’t neccesarily makes me a beautiful person.
I don’t see it as a saving thing, life style or passion, but it certainly brought goodness, some direction and learnings to my life. To what I am very grateful for...

What this place means to me?
👉 Being from South America, the sense of security and progress in Europe got me quick, and after living in few countries with coastal line, i got to the conclusion that South West Portugal is a good place to settle...made food friends here, build a life, let it fall, build it again… and the cycle goes on. Curious what else Aljezur has in stock for me… certainly meeting you, hehe 😉

Ich bin Joe, das da oben ist mein Sohn Cayo. Ich bin nun schon ganze 10 Jahre als Fotograf Teil unseres Teams!!

Surfen ist für mich viel viel mehr als nur mein Lieblingssport. Jedes Mal wenn ich im Wasser bin, blende ich alle Pflichten, Probleme und was ein anstrengendes Leben sonst noch alles mit sich bringt komplett aus. Es es geht dann nur noch um den Fokus auf die richtige Welle das richtige Timing und die richtigen Moves. Es ist somit der wichtigste Faktor für eine gesunde Work Life Balance. Surfen hat mich darüber hinaus auch die eine oder andere Lebensweisheit geleert. Die zwei wichtigsten: Geduld und Umsicht. Zu guter letzt hält mich Surfen Jung und munter!

Aljezur ist für mich ein ganz besonderer Ort auf dieser Welt. Als ich das erste Mal vor 25 Jahren herkam, hatte ich mich sofort in den wilden Westen Europas verliebt. Seither kam ich in regelmäßigen Abständen als Urlauber wieder. Sowohl zum Surfen aber auch für diverse Abenteuer und Erlebnisse in dieser einzigartigen einzigartigen Natur. Vor über fünf Jahren bin ich aus Innsbruck endgültig hergezogen um eine neue Existenz aufzubauen, eine Familie zu gründen und ein neues Projekt ins Leben zu rufen. Bei unserer regenerativen Family Farm namens Lalaland LalaLand Family Farm geht es darum einen positiven Beitrag zu leisten, der Natur etwas zurückzugeben sowie dafür zu sorgen, dass die nächsten Generationen auf eine möglichst positive Zukunft blicken können. Und natürlich auch dem Klimawandel durch das Pflanzen von Bäumen und der Förderung von Biodiversität etwas entgegenzusetzen.

Alles in allem ist das Leben an einem Ort wo andere Urlaub machen nicht gerade leicht, jedoch würde ich es für nichts und wieder nichts in der Welt eintauschen wollen!
