The Continuing Education and Community Service Center (CEC) at Al-Quds Open University (QOU) was established in 1991. Since then, it has become one of the most important centers of the University. The CEC focuses on providing better opportunities for continuing education and life-long learning for various society members, in addition to contributing effectively in Palestinian society capacity building. It offers high standards in education, professional and technical training services along with administrative and technical consultation services. The CEC also implements social development projects and plays a considerable role in developing QOU staff capabilities. Vision:
To be pioneers in providing professional and technical training, implementing development projects and offering consulting services which contributes to building the capacities of Palestinian organizations and to provide different classes according to local and international quality standards. Providing consistent services in accordance with local and international quality assurance standards and the best practices suited with the University’s mission and objectives, in addition to offering distinguished quality services to fulfill the needs of Palestinian society. Objectives:
Contribute to accomplishing the mission of the University to develop its capabilities and to empower individuals in Palestinian society, which will positively reflect on increasing productivity and improving work quality in Palestinian institutions. Achieve excellence in accordance with the strategic plans of the Palestinian higher education system. Strengthen the bonds between the University and all society sectors by offering the local community professional and technical training services and high quality financial, administrative and technical consulting services. Offer the Palestinian community life-long learning opportunities based on community partnership. Build more and stronger partnerships with the community, increase and maintain networking with Palestinian, regional, and international organizations. Identify study and fulfill the current needs of Palestinian Society.
تأسس مركز التعليم المستمر في جامعة القدس المفتوحة سنة 1991
كأحد المراكز المهمة لخدمة المجتمع الفلسطيني، وذلك من أجل توفير فرص التعليم المستمر والتعلم مدى الحياة لجميع شرائح المجتمع الفلسطيني وفئاته، والمساهمة بشكل فاعل في تنمية وتطوير قدرات الأفراد والمؤسسات الفلسطينية من خلال تقديم خدمات التدريب المهني والتقني وفق معايير الجودة المحلية والعالمية، بالإضافة إلى تقديم خدمة الاستشارات الإدارية والفنية وتنفيذ المشاريع التنموية المجتمعية،. كما يعمل مركز التعليم المستمر على تنمية إمكانيات الجامعة وقدراتها من خلال تطوير أداء الكوادر العاملة فيها وتحسين مرافقها.

الريادة في تقديم خدمات التدريب المهني والتقني، وتنفيذ المشاريع التنموية والخدمات الاستشارية (الإدارية والفنية)، التي من شأنها أن تساهم في بناء القدرات الفلسطينية لجميع شرائح المجتمع وفئاته ومؤسساته، وفق معايير الجودة المحلية والعالمية.
الرسالة:
الاستمرار في توفير خدمات التدريب المهني والتقني، وإعداد المشاريع التنموية وتنفيذها، بالإضافة إلى تقديم خدمات الاستشارات في المجالات الإدارية والفنية التي تساهم في بناء وتطوير قدرات شرائح المجتمع الفلسطيني، وخاصة للفئات المهمشة، ومؤسساته المختلفة، بما يتماشى مع إستراتيجيات المركز في تبني "الشراكة من أجل التعليم المستدام" و"التعلم مدى الحياة"، وذلك من خلال العمل على:
تجويد الخدمات التي يقدمها المركز وفق المعايير المحلية والعالمية و"أفضل الممارسات الدولية"، بما يتماشى مع رسالة الجامعة وأهدافها.
التميز في تقديم خدمات نوعية جديدة لتلبية احتياجات المجتمع الفلسطيني.
تحديد ودراسة إحتياجات المجتمع الفلسطيني وتلبيتها.

المساهمة في تحقيق رسالة الجامعة المتمثلة في تطوير قدرات الجامعة وإمكانياتها وتمكين الإنسان والمجتمع الفلسطيني، بما ينعكس بشكل إيجابي على زيادة الإنتاجية وتحسين مستوى العمل في المؤسسات الفلسطينية، والمساهمة في التنمية المجتمعية.
المساهمة في تحقيق التميز وفقًا للخطط الإستراتيجية للتعليم العالي في فلسطين.
توثيق الصلة بين الجامعة وفئات المجتمع كافة، من خلال تقديم خدمات التدريب المهني والتقني والاستشارات المالية والإدارية والفنية عالية الجودة للمجتمع المحلي.
توفير فرص التعلم مدى الحياة (Life Long Learning) المبنية على الشراكة المجتمعية لجميع أفراد الشعب الفلسطيني.
الشراكة المجتمعية والتشبيك المؤسساتي مع المؤسسات الفلسطينية والإقليمية والدولية.
معايير الجودة المتبعة:
يعتمد المركز في عمله على معايير الجودة المحلية من خلال دائرة الجودة في الجامعة وعلى معايير عالمية من خلال الشراكات التي تربط عمل المركز بمؤسسات إقليمية ودولية.
