Due to a lack of administrators and the main admin being busy, we have not updated this page often. We would like to be more active in the future, spreading awareness of the Palestinian cause, and showing people our culture and traditions. Please give us suggestion on what kind of posts you would like to see in the future.

Mahmoud Darwish (Arabic: محمود درويش) (13 March 1941 – 9 August 2008) was a Palestinian poet and author who won numerous awards for his literary output and was regarded as the Palestinian national poet. In his work, Palestine became a metaphor for the loss of Eden, birth and resurrection, and the anguish of dispossession and exile.
He was the greatest writer of our time indeed :)

Does anyone know why many of the names of Palestinian towns/villages start with the word Dayr or Beit?

Jericho is one of the world's most ancient cities. It is also called the city of Palm Trees, and is located in the West Bank. It traces its first inhabitants as far back as 9000 BC. Archaeological evidence indicates that the city was destroyed and abandoned several times (sometimes remaining uninhabited for hundreds of years at a time). The Arabic name "Ariha" is derived from its Canaanite name of "Yareah", which means "moon".

Churches of Palestine A look at a few Churches in Palestine

On Tel Megiddo, where the most bloody battles were fought, and what Christians believe to be the site where the Anti-Christ will be defeated, lies the remains of Palestine's most ancient church; Megiddo Church. The church was built at a time when Christians were still being persecuted by the Roman Empire. A large Greek inscription found nearby states the church is consecrated "To God Jesus Christ". Megiddo literally means "Armageddon".

Assyrian settlement in Palestine lasted about 100 years. In this 100 year period, Assyrians were able to leave a permanent mark on Palestinian culture and heritage. Assyrians carved administrative and religious tablets in cuneiform writing on stone as a historic memorial of their presence in the holy land.
