📚🌎 BOOK MONTH | Stories That Connect Us

Our Falcons enjoyed a very special Book Month visit from Haydeé Rosario, Hendrick Rivera-Rosario’s mom, who shared the bilingual book Los Primos: La Familia en la Diáspora by Merari Cruz Loubriel, translated by Víctor Febus. 📖🇵🇷

The story opened a meaningful conversation about family, culture, identity, and the Puerto Rican experience across borders. For Hendrick, who grew up in the United States with Puerto Rican parents, the story also brought a personal connection to the classroom. 💙

Because books do more than tell stories—they help us discover where we come from, understand one another, and stay connected no matter where we are. ✨

Our 5-2 Falcons welcomed a special guest reader, Eida Mena, Amelia Olmedo’s mom, who shared La Niña del Maletín Azul: Camino a la Ciencia by Dr. Liz Hernández. 📖✨

As a speech-language pathologist, Eida brought an extra-special purpose to story time: inspiring curiosity and sparking a love for science in our students. 🧪💡

And judging by their reactions… mission accomplished! 💙🧡

Because sometimes, all it takes is one story to inspire the next big discovery. 🌟
