Como médicos residentes, cuidadores de salud y promotores del bienestar es nuestra labor escuchar, educar y apoyar a nuestros pacientes para garantizar su seguridad. Como puertorriqueñxs sentimos una profunda tristeza y sentimos coraje al ver este mal que continúa atacando desproporcionadamente a las mujeres. Es por esto, que nos unimos a la lucha en contra de la violencia de género y el machismo. Y nos comprometemos con la educación.
Es alarmante como en Puerto Rico la recopilación de datos sobre asesinatos por violencia de genero son de hace 12 años. El primer paso para implementar medidas es recopilar datos para así puntualizar la causa subyacente para luego entonces diseñar un plan dirigido a esa causa. Entendemos que una de las causas para la violencia de genero es el machismo, es nuestro deber como ciudadanos hacer introspección para enfrentar nuestro propio machismo. Debemos educarnos, corregir y educar al prójimo para hacer de nuestro país uno mejor y más tolerante.

The holidays are about to start with Thanksgiving this week. We know it’s a wonderful time to share with loved ones. In light of the current
emergency, we cannot encourage family gatherings this year. However, if you choose to do so, we thought it’d be useful to share some tips with you on how to have a safe holiday, caring for yourself and your loved ones! So, save them, share them, and FOLLOW THEM.
