The School of Pharmacy, Medical Sciences Campus, UPR celebrated the White Coat Ceremony for PharmD Class of 2030 on September 17. This symbolic event welcomed first-year students to the profession and ratified their commitment to ethical conduct, compassionate patient care, and professional responsibility. The white coat is a symbol of professionalism, trust, expertise, service, and care. Thank you to the students, family, faculty, special guests and sponsors that made this evening special.

The School of Pharmacy, Medical Sciences Campus, UPR begins the Alumni Spotlight series this semester recognizing the professional trajectory of Dr. María del Mar Maldonado Montalván.

After graduating from the Doctor of Pharmacy Program, Dr. Maldonado completed a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Biochemistry that led her to NIH, where she develops therapeutic cancer vaccines that have been pre-clinically tested and patented.

A versatile scientist and pharmacist, experienced in research, method development, and method validation, María del Mar embodies excellence and commitment in pursuing better treatments for our communities.
