I’m traveling to Puerto Rico today to help facilitate a retreat with and !!! 💖🥳✨
I’m super excited but I’m also realizing that life has been a lot lately! Anyone else feel like this? 😰

All my time has been taken up by planning future projects, balancing budgets, teaching yoga, thinking and overthinking, staring at spreadsheets on my computer, travel, and more! Sometimes I feel so exhausted that I will “reward” myself with vegging out in front of the computer and binge watch some show. 😬

Today in our daily podcast .gauranga and and I spoke about how true nourishment comes from being connected to the substance, the Source, aka Krishna!
This underlying and inextinguishable essence connects everything and everyone and only when I tap into that source will I experience true nourishment.

On the other hand, when I am caught up with the rollercoaster of the material energy I will remain stuck on the platform of duality and I’ll inevitably just go up and down in a constant see-saw of emotions and thoughts. This is highly unsettling and exhausting. 😣

To sum it up. When I’m able to connect to Krishna and see the underlying source of everything I will feel nourished. But when I turn my back on Divinity and look for comfort in material things I will inevitably feel exhausted, disconnected, and empty.

Hoping we can all continue to connect to the Divinity that exists within everyone and everything. 🙏🏼🌞

Haven’t been posting many yoga poses lately. Though I am regularly involved in the physical practice of yoga, the deeper spiritual aspects have always interested me more. On the surface there’s a pose but what’s underneath it? What’s really going on in the heart?
💛
Yoga asana is meant to help us purify the body, mind, and heart - if that’s not the intention then we’re missing the point. Sometimes a big physical leap is required to remind us of this truth.

I’ve taken some pretty big steps in life this year and they have allowed me to go deeper and be more honest with myself about who I am, where I want to be, and how I want to serve. Sometimes it’s scary to take those big leaps, but they reveal so much and are so necessary for our personal growth.
🙏🏼
Have you taken any big steps in life lately? Share below! 👇🏼

Just got back to NYC early this morning but my heart is still in Brazil.
🗽💖🇧🇷😭
Specifically my heart is with the beautiful soul of - we spent the last two weeks in the bliss and joy of loving relationship, and we also had an opportunity to grow as a couple, and growth is sometimes intense folks! Don’t let the glittering IG stories fool you! Relationships are not perfect. Rather they are sacred and fertile ground through which we are meant to face ourselves and step up to the challenges of the ego.
👨🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻❤️‍🔥
Conflict happens, people get triggered, the past comes up, our bad habits and conditionings start to emerge, generational trauma rears its ugly head, and the mind and false ego can try to usurp the higher self that rests in knowledge of the soul.
🥀⛈
Sometimes we can become so arrested by the mind and emotions that we lose ourselves in the darkness, but I truly believe that relationship is a place to help guide us back to the light with the help of love, compassion, forgiveness, empathy, patience, steadiness, respect, admiration, and service. Always practicing these qualities (even if we fail sometimes) can help us grow tremendously on our ultimate spiritual journey back to the eternal reality of Divine love.
✨💖
Feeling eternally grateful that the bright light of was placed in my path at just the right moment. Thank you all for your continuous love and support. And most of all thank you Krishna!
🙏🏼💖🙏🏼

Started our Online Yoga Teacher Training with .gauranga and yesterday. It’s such a great group and I’m feeling so grateful for this opportunity to serve others in their yoga journeys.
🙏🏼
A prevalent theme that came up right from the get go yesterday was how in our society we value Form over Substance. We focus on externals over what’s going on inside. We prioritize what things look like on the surface versus the condition of our hearts…
💔
This cultural ethos is so rampant and it feels hard to escape sometimes, especially on social media. Haven’t been posting as much because I’ve been focusing more on taking care of my heart, spending time with friends, and making my new home cozy.
🏡
Wishing you all lots of love this Sunday. Remember you can always take some time to go inside and do some heart-purifying activities (asana, pranayama, Kirtan, laughter, nature walks, sun-bathing, jumping in the ocean!). The external world will always be there. You’re not missing out on anything by taking time for yourself. ✨🌞

Yesterday was my birthday and I’m feeling very grateful for all the love and sweet messages sent my way. In these 33 years I’ve lived so many lives and been to so many places, but more than anything I’m learning how to be more honest with myself around my needs. The greatest need of everyone is to reconnect with God, but this body and mind, and emotional landscape that we are birthed into is unique for each and every one of us and it takes a while to figure that all out.
🍃
I’ve noticed that the less self-awareness I have around my needs the more anxiety and fear arise. The less that I know about who I am and what I need the more my conditionings and traumas take over. Operating from that space of fear and anxiety is terrible and so unstable. In that state one can become so disconnected from what is real and thus tries to latch on to the temporary things of this world.
🍂
I’m learning to know myself more, to address my material, mental, and emotional needs quicker, to nourish myself more, and to continuously try to remember my connection with Divinity. So many of our problems come from turning away from the light of God within our hearts. I spent so many years running away from that light and into the darkness, but I’ve been somehow blessed with the immense mercy of being in community with the lovers of God, in partnership with a sweet soul who’s greatest joy is service, and even more blessed to have a spiritual teacher who is always guiding me.

I am beyond grateful. Thank you 🙏🏼💖

Śrimad Bhāgavatam 11.2.37
“Fear arises when a living entity misidentifies himself as the material body because of absorption in the external, illusory energy of the Lord. When the living entity thus turns away from the Supreme Lord, he also forgets his own constitutional position as a servant of the Lord. This bewildering, fearful condition is effected by the potency for illusion, called māyā. Therefore, an intelligent person should engage unflinchingly in the unalloyed devotional service of the Lord, under the guidance of a bona fide spiritual master, whom he should accept as his worshipable deity and as his very life and soul.”

The human body, which can award all benefit in life, is automatically obtained by the laws of nature, although it is a very rare achievement. This human body can be compared to a perfectly constructed boat having the spiritual master as the captain and the instructions of the Personality of Godhead as favorable winds impelling it on its course. Considering all these advantages, a human being who does not utilize his human life to cross the ocean of material existence must be considered the killer of his own soul.

Happy Kartik month to everyone! In this beautiful month we celebrate lord Krishna in his sweet and divine form of Damodar who taught us that He can only be conquered by the love of his true devotees.
💖
This is one of my favorite months of the year as it it is full of celebration, devotion, and lots of festivals! In this month devotees of Krishna make special arrangements to offer candles everyday with a special prayer in their heart. I love this beautiful vow of a daily offering so much because it is a perfect reminder that Krishna expects so little from us yet gives back so much.
🕯
I am reminded of this verse from the Bhagavad Gita where Krishna shares how simple our acts of devotion can be: .
“If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it.” (9.26)
🌸
Wishing everyone a beautiful Kartik month full of love and devotion.
🙏🏼🔥

“O King, one who accepts this process of devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead will never blunder on his path in this world. Even while running with eyes closed, he will never trip or fall.”
