How well you move on the bike is greatly determined by your set
up!

Bike set up is a huge part of getting the most out of your workout on the Spinner® bike. Proper positioning is absolutely essential for safety, comfort, and overall performance.

Here’s a quick step by step.

1. Start by putting the saddle fore/aft (forward & back) adjustment in the center of the of the adjustment range. This will allow you to go forward or back after getting your saddle height. I call this “neutralizing” the saddle for set up.

2. Saddle Height- Mount the bike with your riding shoes and clothing on. Clip in if using cycling specific shoes or place feet into toe cages. Make sure the ball of your foot is “centered” on the pedal with the crank arms at 12 and 6 o’ clock. What you will need to find is a “slight” bend in the knee of the leg that is at the 6 o’ clock (bottom) position. Be sure to keep your foot basically flat while doing this. The knee bend should be around 25-35 degrees. The use of a bike fit tool or goniometer is recommend.

3. Saddle Fore/Aft - Now that you have finished getting saddle height, it’s time to adjust the fore/aft. With the pedals now at 3 and 9 o’ c**k, adjust your position to allow the FORWARD knee to basically be directly over the pedal spindle (center of pedal) and the ball of the foot. Be sure to again keep your foot flat while doing this. You should be able to visually estimate this vertical alignment, but using a plumb line is recommended.

4. Handlebar Height- The main goal for this is comfort. Find a height that works for you personally and allows for a relaxed hip angle/lower back and a natural extension of the your arms to the bars. This can be adjusted from day-to-day depending on how you feel.

5. Handlebar Fore/Aft- Some bikes do have a 4th adjustment that allows for a few inches of back & forth in the bars! I love bikes that have this! This adjustment allows you to find a comfortable “reach” to the bars. What you are looking for is a slight bend in the elbows and relaxed shoulders with your hands on the top of the bars. You can also slightly adjust the bars for knee clearance if needed when you are riding out of the saddle! 31/05/2026
