The Mission and Goal of A/C step 2 CS prep is to prepare US and IMG’s students in the most simple and accurate way to PASS the test with the highest score possible. We focus on communication, interpersonal, history taking, patient note and physical examination skills. Learn how the test is graded, what the Standardized patient is looking for, and how to write patient notes. We understand the conc
erns and needs of our students and for this reason we keep our class sizes small (less than 10 students per workshop). Each student receives individual attention, maintaining a safe and supportive environment. WORKSHOP:
DAY 1:
-Step 2 CS exam orientation– Discuss the format of the exam and what the SP (standardized Patient) will be scoring for each sub-component: ICE , CIS , SEP
-Information gathering for each complains
-Effective and Proper Patient InterviewingTechniques , such as Physician Posture , Eye Contact, Patient’s Personal Space, and Respecting the Patient’s Modesty
-Lunch Time
-Diagnosis Minicases:
-Time Management in The Differential Diagnosis, Justification needed for each diagnosis and Correlating the Diagnostic Studies. DAY 2:
-Physical Examination:
-Accuracy of what the SP wants to check his list boxes
-Time Management with the SP and HPI
-Acceptable Physical Examination MED Abbreviations
-Lunch Time
-Close:
-Counseling the Patient regarding Negative Social habits. (i.e , to***co use , alcohol use , illicit drugs, sexual practices, diet , exercise , etc..)
-Clarifying Information
-Explanation of the Diagnostic Studies
-Assessing the Patient’s Agreement , Willing , Challenging Questions, and Understanding
Day 3:
-Patient Notes:
-Targeting the Writing of Focused Note to the Patient’s Chief Complaint.
-Covering the content of the History of Present Illness
-Past Medical History , and the writing of appropriate descriptions for the Physical Examination section.
-Lunch Time
-Practicing Cases with SP:
-You will practice with SP your Information Gathering , Physical Examination and HPI with our SP and Physician’s Evaluation
Day 4:
-Mock Test:
-Conquer your fear and boost your confidence
-Real simulated exam with phenomenal SP
