💡 Fun fact: Thiomargarita means “sulfur pearl,” inspired by the pearl-like appearance of bacteria in this genus.

RECAP: Day 3 of SynBio 101! 🧬✨

Today was all about hands-on learning. From exploring AutoCAD for lab applications, mastering mini-preps to visualize DNA via electrophoresis, to connecting during our mentor session.
We are loving the progress and energy! 🧪💻🔥

Day 2 of SynBio 101 Immersive Program was all about taking theories into the lab and putting our hands to work! 🧬✨

Here’s a look back at everything we tackled on Tuesday:

Started off grounded in proper safety protocols before diving into the wet lab setup🥼. We put our techniques to the test with plasmid DNA extraction🧬 and running gels to visualize our results, transformed agar-inspired pancake canvases🥞 into colorful cellular models, and teamed up for a collaborative session, working alongside mentors to design synthetic biology solutions to real-world problems🤝.
