As season number 3 closes with Freestyle and Greco State, we want to take a moment to recognize some of the highlights from an incredible year for Steel City.

This season, Steel City Wrestling Club grew from 30 youth athletes to 85 athletes strong. While results are never the main focus, the ability to grow, improve, and learn from tournament to tournament is what truly matters and these athletes did exactly that.

Here’s how Steel City athletes finished this season:

• 23 World of Wrestling placers
• 6 athletes finished Top 5 in WOW rankings
• 2 First Team All-Star Poster winners
• Rookie State Champion
• 5 Freestyle/Greco State Champions in the youth division
• 8 Folkstyle State Champions

Team accomplishments:

• Top 4 finish at Youth State
•2x Middle School State Champions
• Tulsa Nationals 8U Girls Champions
• Top 4 finishes in all RMN events attended by the team

More important than the medals and trophies is the culture being built inside this room. The work ethic, discipline, accountability, and belief these kids are developing will carry far beyond wrestling.

Congratulations to 3rd grader Kane Carter on an incredible performance at the Big State Wrestling Tournament this weekend!

Kane stepped up and moved into a tougher weight bracket, taking on the challenge head-on. His hard work and determination paid off with an impressive 4th place overall finish.

We are so proud of the grit, heart, and effort he showed on the mat. Way to represent, Kane!

TULSA CHAMPS IN YEAR 3!!!! 🏆
Over the weekend, we took 19 athletes to Tulsa to compete in one of the toughest youth tournaments in the country — and came home with 7 All-Americans, our first-ever Tulsa Finalist, and the 8U Tulsa Girls Team National Title!!

Huge congratulations to all wrestlers who competed this weekend, whether locally or nationally. The work is showing. This program is rising!!
