TASIS Dorado is incredibly proud to announce that Arturo Marxuach Cárdenas ’28 has been selected to represent Puerto Rico at the 41st Ibero-American Mathematical Olympiad (IBERO)!

Just one day after returning from Durango, Mexico, where he recently earned a bronze medal at the Central American and Caribbean Mathematics Olympiad, Arturo traveled to Mayagüez to take the IBERO team selection test alongside approximately 20 student finalists and earned his place on team Puerto Rico!

Arturo will now travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the competition, taking place September 6–13, 2026.

Congratulations, Arturo! We are so proud of your dedication and this remarkable back-to-back achievement.

TASIS Dorado proudly congratulates Elizabeth Chiou ’28 on earning a Level 1 Award and placing third in the 2026 GAITE international ranking at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI), held August 2–8 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Elizabeth was part of Puerto Rico’s student delegation through the Olimpiadas Informáticas de Puerto Rico (OiPR), a program of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, which supports and prepares young Puerto Rican talent for international competitions in computing and artificial intelligence.

Competing in GAITE (Global AI Talent Empowerment), Elizabeth faced challenging problems designed to evaluate students’ technical knowledge and ability to apply artificial intelligence to practical problem-solving.

Her outstanding performance placed her among the top three GAITE participants worldwide, marking a historic achievement for Puerto Rico and highlighting the island’s growing young talent in artificial intelligence.

The third edition of IOAI was its largest to date, bringing together 466 contestants and 126 team leaders from 108 countries and territories for a week of competition, education, and international exchange.

We are incredibly proud to see Elizabeth represent Puerto Rico and with excellence, curiosity, and determination on the global stage.

Silver for Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷🥈⛵️

TASIS Dorado proudly congratulates Diego José Marrero Cuevas ’28 on winning a silver medal for Puerto Rico in the Mixed 420 sailing event at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026!

Diego and his sailing partner, Isabel Olalla Rivera Fernández, completed 12 regattas with three first-place finishes and five second-place finishes to secure the silver medal.

Congratulations, Diego, on this outstanding international achievement. Your dedication and sportsmanship make our entire Bear community proud! 🇵🇷

Congratulations to Arturo Marxuach Cárdenas ’28 on earning a Bronze Medal as a member of Puerto Rico’s team at the XVIII Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad, held in Durango, Mexico, from August 7–14, 2026.
