On May 13, we celebrated two TASIS Dorado legends, Susan Fiallo and Wendy Nieto, with a heartfelt retirement sendoff full of music, memories, gratitude, and surprise.
Summoned to what they thought was an all-staff meeting, Susan and Wendy walked into the PAC to the sounds of our faculty musicians and dancers performing bomba and plena, as faculty and staff from every division honored them with joyful, personalized versos de bomba.
The celebration continued with special gifts, including custom ceramics designed and created by Mr. Axel Carrasquillo, featuring meaningful design elements inspired by each of their professional journeys at TASIS Dorado.
We also shared a tribute video featuring heartfelt messages from current students, past and present faculty, and administrators, followed by a beautiful memory video capturing their TASIS Dorado journeys from years past to today. After the PAC celebration, faculty and staff gathered at the HUB for jumbo lemonade as a treat and small token gifts in honor of Susan and Wendy.
With an extraordinary 20-year tenure, Susan leaves a legacy defined by leadership, vision, and dedication. She helped shape the programs, traditions, and culture of our school, from developing the founding secondary curriculum and creating Exploration Week to launching the Leadership Academy across divisions. She also led meaningful initiatives such as the Bee Project and guided TASIS Dorado through key accreditation milestones, including STEM and Early Childhood Programs of Distinction and our RAIL endorsement.
Throughout 23 years of dedicated service as our Librarian, Wendy leaves a legacy rooted in inquiry, discovery, and a lifelong love of reading. Under her leadership, the library became a vibrant center for learning, fostering strong research skills and inspiring generations of students. She also established beloved traditions such as Book Fairs, National Library Week, and the Reading and Math Wizard programs, bringing Verum, Bonum, Pulchrum to life in meaningful ways.
Susan and Wendy, your legacy is woven into the heart of our school. Thank you for the love, dedication, wisdom, and joy you have shared with generations of students, colleagues, and families.
We will miss you. Happy retirement! 💙❤️

The Senior Class of 2026 closed their final day of classes with meaningful traditions, laughter, and a few tears. 🎓🐻
On April 30, the Junior Class of 2027 hosted the annual Junior-Senior Luncheon at the Bear Den, a long-standing TASIS Dorado tradition where seniors “leave their legacy” to a junior through a special gift and symbolic handoff.
The celebration continued at the WAC with the Senior Farewell, also hosted by the juniors, featuring skits, games, and unforgettable moments between both classes. A favorite highlight was the beloved teacher skit, where faculty dressed up as senior students for a hilarious classroom scene that had everyone laughing.
The day ended on an emotional note with a farewell video honoring the Class of 2026, followed by the final countdown at the Senior Countdown Board, marking the last 10 seconds of their final day of classes at TD.
A beautiful sendoff for a class that has left its mark. ❤️💙
Special thanks to our Junior class advisors: Leslie Rivera, Brenda Cassé, Carmen Meléndez, Laura Burgos, Tamara Texidor, Melissa Toledo, and Omar González. Special thanks also to senior advisor Jean Suárez for coordinating the Legacy speeches.
