What is the the meaning of Labor Day?
Do you get weekends off work? Lunch breaks? Paid vacation? An eight-hour work day? Social security? If you said “yes” to any of these questions, you can thank labor unions and the U.S. labor movement for it. Years of hard-fought battles (and the ensuing legislation they inspired) resulted in many of the most basic benefits we enjoy at our jobs today . On the first Monday in September, we take the day off to celebrate Labor Day and reflect on the American worker’s . Have a wonderful weekend !

Queridos estudiantes, padres y tutores:
Esperamos que hayan disfrutado de sus vacaciones de verano y que hayan sido placenteras. Ya pronto reanudaremos nuestros cursos y quiero comunicarles que el itinerario se quedará igual a la carta que se le entregó a cada estudiante. Daremos comienzo el lunes 12 de agosto de 2019, como se había programado. Los únicos estudiantes individuales y grupales quienes comenzarán sus clases una semana más tarde, serán los estudiantes de los jueves. Estos darán comienzo el 22 de agosto de 2019. Un abrazo caluroso, y ya nos veremos muy pronto.

International Mother Earth Day was established in 2009, by the General Assembly under Resolution A/RES/63/278. The Resolution was introduced by The Plurinational State of Bolivia and endorsed by over 50 member states. It recognizes that "the Earth and its ecosystems are our home" and that "it is necessary to promote harmony with nature and the Earth." The term Mother Earth is used because it "reflects the interdependence that exists among human beings, other living species and the planet we all inhabit". It is decided to designate April 22 as International Mother Earth Day.

Holy Friday or Good Friday ?
Good Friday, also known as Holy Friday or Black Friday signifies the day when Jesus Christ was crucified. It is a day of solemn mourning. Then why is the day called "Good"? Many believe that it was the day when Jesus Christ died for the sins of mankind and also it was the start of his resurrection. Some believe the word "Good" has the same meaning as the English word holy. Good Friday is one of the most important festivals for Christians around the world. On this day, they make a point to forgive and remember prayer to focus on what Jesus did for the mankind - his ultimate sacrifice for the good of all humans.

Easter Challenge
This year in one of our classes we learned how to play checkers.
After Easter, we will have a competition, the group who looses the game has to answer questions that have been placed under the giant checkers and the opponents must answer them . Prizes will be given, Baskin Robin coupons to enjoy ice-cream !!!!
