Happy Juneteenth to all those that are celebrating!! The youngest “Tiny” wanted some RGB socks so of course I had to knit them for him. While you’re out there celebrating, keep in mind that while this day is very significant, a great number of ancestors remained in chains well past this date. Slavery in the good old South continued into the 1960s. Interview a sharecropper from the backwoods, a former maid, or read some lit. And those wyte companies that suddenly have a Juneteenth sale still don’t care about us. Spend your dollars wisely and shop Black, Brown, or a known ally.
