Master Rickson Gracie 2 Day Seminar-April 9 & 10,2005

This past weekend,with the approval of Master Rickson Gracie,I was promoted in GRACIE JIU JITSU to the rank of Black Belt by Professor Leonardo Xavier,it’s been a long road but a very special one since I first got interested in this formidable martial art back in 1994 and started to train at it back in 2003………..The road for every jiu jitsu practitioner is different and there is no such thing as a determined amount of time to reach a rank. First of all I would like to thank Master Rickson Gracie for everything he has done for Jiu Jitsu,without your hard work and sacrifice the success of the art would not had been possible.I would never forget the very first time I met you 2005. Second I would like to give thanks to Professor Leo Xavier who gave me the opportunity to re connect with Master Rickson Gracie back in 2010 and accepted me as his student 10yrs ago.Professor Xavier has been teaching nonstop for more than 30yrs and not only he has absorbed Master Rickson Gracie’s Jiu Jitsu Concepts at a very high level but also holds very high standards of what a Black Belt should be…….as he says “if you don’t conduct yourself as a black belt inside and outside the mats,then you are not really one”.I am really grateful for all you had taught me and showing me the right way of this endless path. Special thanks to one of my very first mentors and former TKD instructor Luis Gato for giving me his support to never give up. Last I would like to thank the Behring Jiu Jitsu Team of PR where I trained at for 11yrs since 2003 as they were the very first ones to plant the seeds of Jiu Jitsu on the island. Thanks to everyone who has trained with me in the last 21 yrs (too many to mention so you know who you are!!! ) and remember DO NOT SEEK THE BELT SEEK THE KNOWLEDGE & THE EXPERIENCE!!! FOLLOW THE RIGHT PATH,STICK TO IT THE BELT WILL EVENTUALLY COME!!
