Happy Monday to all of you mamas! And Happy Winter Solstice! Basically is the Celebration of the Christmas Spirit and the Connection to ourselves in new and profound ways.

Now that we are at the end of this year and almost about to celebrate a very unique Christmas Day I want to affirm and declare the power of us to thrive and to flow with all the changes that this year has brought to us.

I invite you to take some time to reflect (alone or together with your tribe) and connect with yourself, connect with your truth, connect with your happiness, wisdom, the sense of safety and certainty that is within you. Connect with your mother within, with the wild woman, with the wise woman and with your inner child. As you do this feel the connection to the people you love and loves you, feel the gratitude and fortune that comes from knowing that your life is supported and worth living.

Tonight I’ll be doing a Winter Solstice ritual with my mom, dad and brother (my support peeps) for the first time to welcome and highlight in my life all the things motherhood life has brought me and will continue to bring me.

Our postpartum bodies respond better to tenderness and love than rigid regimens.

At least that was my postpartum experience. I used to go to power yoga classes, Zumba classes and had a gym routine right before getting pregnant. Then during pregnancy and after delivery even now (8 months postpartum) my body reacts different to exercise routines, my body coordination has changed and even the usual chiropractic adjustments could be interpreted by my body as a violent intervention.

Here I was receiving a and it was the perfect tenderness, nurturing touch my PP body was craving. It made me feel at peace and in harmony. My anxiety wasn’t activated at all and I was able to enjoy my body surrendering to the experience.

Thanks a lot for your wisdom, care and tenderness. It meant the world to me to know that my ever changing mommy body was in good hands 😉

To be honest for me Motherhood is not a Diagnosis but instead a mayor shift in life perspective, and that could be threatening for the sense of safety to some of us. We discover new things about ourselves that would be hidden if didn’t go through the motherhood experience. For that same reason, motherhood confronts us with new realities and changes that can be overwhelming and is no wander why some of us get depressed and/or anxious before and/or after giving birth. ⁣

🔅🔅🔅🔅🔅🔅🔅🔅🔅⁣

Becoming a mother is a complex convoluted process, and it needs to be embraced by moms as well as her support system with care, tenderness, respect, curiosity, and love. ⁣

I dedicate this post to all of you moms that have struggles with a psychological challenge. Our shadows are our teachers and messengers of our pending inner growth. ⁣

If I only knew then what I know now I would’ve enjoyed my pregnancy even more and surrender to the unknown (easier said than done), but wisdom is a after the fact kind of thing. ⁣

Pregnancy’s mental/emotional states of ours could feel chaotic and yet is so typical. We ask a lot of ourselves in this time of never ending changes, expectations, uncertainties, and unknowns, instead of start practicing self-care, self-compassion, to slow down and allow ourselves to expand not only physically but in all our personal dimensions. For me that included to expand my vocation and profession. ⁣

As a former licensed therapist and a current mom and perinatal educator in training, pregnancy is a time to embrace life from a whole different perspective, to question yourself about your true believes about parenting, to feel like a whole broken woman, to feel your past, present and future, to create a new order in your life, to see who your true friends are, to improve your relationship with self and others, to nest a new identity and get fearfully excited about the new life that is inside of you that might come with all the force of the universe to put you outside of the comfort zone. ⁣

For that and many more reasons cultivate your mental and emotional well-being today and always! ⁣
