Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting a meetup to introduce IEEE membership and volunteering opportunities to potential new student members. We enjoyed insightful discussions about the amazing pathways available through IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS) and IEEE Women in Engineering.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us - we loved connecting with you and hope to stay in touch! 🤝

Our Student Branch Counselor, Natalia Piaseczna, recently participated in the IEEE Region 8 Student Branch Counselor Training Program held in beautiful Lecco, Italy 🇮🇹 on September 17-18, 2024 by IEEE R8 SAC.

The training was two days of engaging sessions focusing on topics like the role of the Student Branch Counselor, effective Branch management, and valuable insights into IEEE and the IEEE Region 8 Student Activities Committee 🌟

Our Counselor not only learned from insightful presentations but also had the chance to make valuable connections with fellow Counselors across the Region 🤝 Following the training, they participated in the RSTI conference, diving deeper into collaboration opportunities.

We’re excited about the knowledge and connections gained, which will definitely help us strengthen our Branch and empower our members! 💪

Our first guest in the EMBS Distinguished Lecturers Program! 🎉

Last week, we had the honour of hosting Spyretta Golemati, PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, who delivered a lecture titled "Novel ultrasound imaging markers of vascular function for prediction of cardiovascular events" 📊

Thanks to the Organization Committee of the HTIC conference, we also organized a special session titled "Engineers for Engineers in the Global Village Era," aimed at highlighting the importance of collaboration among engineers worldwide 🌍
Participants had the opportunity to learn about the benefits associated with the establishment of the new IEEE SUT Student Branch subunit - EMBS Student Branch Chapter. During this session, Doctor Golemati shared her experiences and encouraged active participation in the EMB Society 🤝

Hopefully, her inspiring words will motivate one of our researchers to take on a similar challenge and apply for the DL program 💪
