Our friends from Wydział Fizyki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego just started this new year with a foundation supporting young people shaping optics and photonics in Poland - Fundacja Candela.

To help them out you can support their fundraiser to get the foundation started https://zrzutka.pl/en/candela and share information about Candela.

Visit their website https://candela.org.pl/ to learn more.

We are young scientists who plan to pursue their scientific career in Poland. We know what needs to be done to make it easier for others to develop optics and photonics and we plan to support them at an early stage of their studies. We are building the Candela foundation to support young people who....

We’re not afraid of the coronavirus, and we build new, fancy lasers at Politechnika Wrocławska!

Our very recent paper on the investigation of an ultrashort-pulsed NALM-based erbium-doped fiber laser was just published in Optics Express journal!

The research was funded by Fundacja na rzecz Nauki Polskiej :-)

Our lab is still working! We support the university 😀

Great news! Our new paper on two-photon excited fluorescence imaging using a 780 nm femtosecond fiber laser is now available online! 😄 Check out the latest issue of Biomedical Optics Express:
https://www.osapublishing.org/boe/abstract.cfm?uri=boe-11-8-4431
We developed a novel femtosecond fiber laser with tunable pulse repetition frequency and employed it to drive a scanning two-photon excited fluorescence microscope for imaging of various biological samples. The work was done in collaboration between Politechnika Wrocławska and the International Centre for Translational Eye Research (ICTER).
The work was funded by Fundacja na rzecz Nauki Polskiej 💪💪

A femtosecond frequency-doubled erbium-doped fiber laser with an adjustable pulse repetition rate is developed and applied in two-photon excited fluorescence microscopy. The all-fiber laser system provides the fundamental pulse at 1560 nm wavelength with 22 fs duration for the second harmonic...

Finally! 😀
Our recent paper on mid-infrared frequency comb generation publihed in Optics Express is available online!
The paper presents the design of a stabilized, widely tunable comb source which covers the 7-9 micron spectral range. Such laser enables fast and accurate monitoring of multiple gases, molecules or air pollutants simultaneously. We have demonstrated a broadband measurement of the absorption spectrum of nitrous oxide (N2O), a harmful greenhouse gas with significant global warming potential. The laser can be also used for monitoring of methane (CH4) or sulfur dioxide (SO2).
The work was funded by Fundacja na rzecz Nauki Polskiej and done at Politechnika Wrocławska.
Read and share! 😊

A compact and robust all-fiber difference frequency generation-based source of broadband mid-infrared radiation is presented. The source emits tunable radiation in the range between 6.5 µm and 9 µm with an average output power up to 5 mW at 125 MHz repetition frequency. The all-in-fiber constr...

Yes! Our newest paper on coherent supercontinuum generation using an ultra-compact fiber laser is now available online! Probably the world's simplest supercontinuum source ever. :) Read & share!

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-019-48726-9

The work was funded by Fundacja na rzecz Nauki Polskiej. 😁

We report the generation of coherent octave-spanning supercontinuum in an all-fiber system, without any free-space optical components. The setup uses the femtosecond fiber laser as a pump and an all-normal dispersion microstructured fiber as a medium for supercontinuum generation. The generated spec...
