"Wychowanie w Rodzinie" ("Family Upbringing") to czasopismo poświęcone problematyce rodziny w ujęciu historycznym i współczesnym. Publikuje oryginalne artykuły autorów polskich i zagranicznych, stanowiące głos w humanistyczno-społecznym dyskursie nad rodziną, będące zarówno doniesieniami z badań, jak rozprawami teoretycznymi. Publikowane teksty w głównej mierze przynależą do takich dyscyplin naukowych, jak historia wychowania oraz pedagogika rodziny, jednakże coraz częściej na naszych łamach wypowiadają się przedstawiciele innych subdyscyplin pedagogiki, a także psychologii, socjologii, archeologii, filologii oraz prawa.

„Wychowanie w Rodzinie” (“Family Upbringing”) is a journal dedicated to the problems of the family in the historical and the contemporary approach. The published original articles – written by authors from Poland and other countries who discuss research results as well as theories – constitute a voice in humanities and social sciences discourse on the family. Although the majority of the published papers belong to such branches of social sciences as history of education and pedagogy of the family it is increasingly often that the work of scholars of other sub-disciplines of pedagogy as well as psychology, sociology, archaeology, literary studies, linguistics, and law is presented.

Dear Colleagues,

Family Upbringing is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to the study of the family from both historical and contemporary perspectives. It publishes original articles by Polish and international authors, contributing to the humanities and social sciences discourse on the family through both empirical research reports and theoretical studies.

We are pleased to announce that, on 1 August 2026, we will open the call for papers for the penultimate (third) issue of the journal, scheduled for publication in October 2026. Approximately 12 scientific articles will be accepted for the October issue; therefore, the number of available publication slots is limited. All submitted manuscripts undergo an independent double-blind peer review process conducted in accordance with international standards of publication ethics and the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

We invite the submission of original research articles, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, as well as theoretical papers addressing issues related to the family, upbringing, and education. We encourage authors to submit their manuscripts as early as possible, as this facilitates a more efficient peer review and editorial process and increases the likelihood of publication in the third issue.

We would also like to remind prospective authors that, since January 2025, Family Upbringing has published articles in English, enabling research to reach a broader international academic audience. At the same time, in recognition of the significant number of submissions from Polish authors, manuscripts may still be submitted in Polish, with the option of being translated into English after the peer review process has been completed. In justified cases, we also allow the publication of an article in both language versions: the primary English version and its Polish translation.

We invite you to submit original research articles to Wychowanie w Rodzinie (Family Upbringing), an international peer-reviewed academic journal focused on family studies from historical and contemporary perspectives. We welcome contributions in education, family studies, and related disciplines.

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process and must be submitted through our online submission system. Author guidelines and submission requirements are available on the journal’s website.

Since January 2025, the journal has published primarily in English to reach a wider international audience. Articles may also be submitted in Polish and translated into English after successful peer review. In justified cases, bilingual publication (English and Polish) is also possible.

Please note that the Polish Ministry of Science has announced that the new official list of scientific journals will be published by the end of 2026 and will take effect in early 2027, providing greater stability for publication planning.
