📢 Wrapping Up an Intensive Course on Cold War Germany! 📢

Over the past two weeks, we had the privilege of hosting Dr. Benjamin Conrad from Humboldt University Berlin for an intensive course on "The Two German States During the Cold War."

A group of 13 dedicated students explored the political systems of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Democratic Republic, the differences between market and planned economies, and key historical turning points such as the 1953 uprising, the Berlin Wall, and German reunification. They also examined the role of resistance in East Germany and Berlin’s history as a divided city.

A huge thank you to Dr. Conrad for sharing his expertise and making this course such a valuable experience! 🙌

We are very proud to see our students share their research on the international stage. Our PhD candidate from the Department of Civil Society Studies, Laura Piel Martín, will deliver a lecture at Unimonseratte University in Bogotá, Colombia this Friday.

Lecture title: "Políticas y resistencias: construyendo el significado de la violencia sexual" (Politics and Resistance: Constructing the Meaning of Sexual Violence)
