💥 An Active Thursday in MYP! 💥

As part of our House System, we had a special guest this week — physiotherapist Mr. Arkadiusz Bohonos, who led an inspiring session for both students and teachers about the importance of staying active and taking care of our muscles and spine, especially when we spend long hours sitting.

We got a great dose of practical knowledge, simple tips for everyday posture, and exercises we can use during lessons to feel better and stay energized.

To wrap up the session, everyone took part in a knowledge quiz, competing proudly for their Houses! 🏆🔥
And the results were… thrilling!

🥇 Rivers – outstanding memory and lightning-fast reactions!
🥈 Bridges – just a step behind the leaders!
🥉 Forest – fantastic effort until the very end!
🏰 Castles – full of spirit and great teamwork!

✨ What an incredible burst of energy and school spirit! ✨
On Monday, we celebrated Spirit Day – and it was everything we hoped for: loud, colourful, joyful, and full of friendly competition! 💙💚❤️💛

Our gym turned into a true House System arena, filled with cheering, teamwork, and plenty of fun. Students proudly wore their House colours and logos, showing just how much they can achieve when they support each other and give their best.

🏆 This time, the victory went to House: Bridges!
Right behind them were Forest, Castles, and Rivers – every House fought hard and showed amazing spirit.

It was one of those days that remind us why our school community is so special.

In KG/PK – PYP5 grades at Wrocław International School, together with the corresponding Dwujęzyczna Szkoła Podstawowa ATUT Fundacji Edukacji Międzynarodowej 0–5 grades, we are carrying out a special project of creating and writing holiday postcards, organised as part of the Wrocławskie Centrum Rozwoju Społecznego initiatives, supporting meaningful interschool cooperation.

Students first designed and crafted their own winter postcards and then exchanged them with classmates — developing mindfulness, kindness, and the ability to express warm wishes with care and creativity.

This week, a delegation of ATUT students, together with their teacher, is visiting WIS to share their winter greetings and receive postcards prepared by WIS students.

This joyful and creative exchange strengthens relationships, builds bridges between our schools, and serves as a wonderful example of collaboration between classes. ❄️

We warmly thank Ms Ada, ATUT English teacher, for initiating this project, as well as everyone involved in bringing it to life — and above all, our students for their beautiful, heartfelt work.
We also extend our sincere thanks to the WIS teachers for their involvement and support in making this initiative possible.

🎓 Personal Project – sharing the process

Today, WIS students shared with International High School of Wroclaw - IB World School students what the Personal Project process looks like so far.

They talked about their ideas, challenges, and the next steps in developing their projects.

It was a valuable opportunity for discussion, exchange of experiences, and mutual inspiration.

Last Friday, our Winter WOW Concert took place, bringing together music, creativity, and festive spirit ❄️✨

Our students and teachers presented a wide variety of performances. Alongside instrumental pieces and vocal performances, the audience could also enjoy creative, performative acts, including body percussion.

We would like to sincerely thank all our guests for joining us and celebrating this special evening with us. Our heartfelt thanks also go to the PTA parents for their wonderful help with the decorations, to our music teachers, and to everyone involved in the preparations.

To top it all off, Santa Claus made a festive appearance at the end of the concert and handed out gifts 🎅🎁

MYP4 had a fantastic field trip to Wrocław’s Rynek on November 19th! 🗺️

Our students explored the city centre, recording building functions, observing land-use patterns, and creating sketch maps to understand what makes this area so unique.

They were incredibly engaged - asking thoughtful questions, making detailed observations, and experiencing geography in action right in the heart of the city. 🌆✨

This week, as part of Literacy Week 2025, our PYP and MYP students celebrated the joy of reading through a variety of fun and creative activities.

PYP enjoyed daily DEAR sessions (Drop Everything And Read), a Monday kick-off with Ms. Maria, teachers reading their childhood favourites, creating class stories, a House Word Hunt, and our colourful Dress Up Day to wrap up the week. 📚

MYP explored Shakespearean sonnets, joined Buddy Reading with younger students, read during breaks, took part in a House Kahoot quiz, and finished the week with a Spelling Bee. 📘

On November 17th, we launched the winter season of the WIS Enrichment Programme.

Our students were able to develop their interests at, among others, the Movement and Dance Club and the Shakespeare Club.

It was a successful start to the season. You can also feel winter in After School Care — we are beginning to create winter decorations.

🌍 Exploring Poland: Immigrants & Solidarity

Our MYP students had an inspiring trip from Wrocław to the Tri-City. They visited the Museum of Polish Emigration in Gdynia and the European Solidarity (Solidarność) Centre in Gdańsk, learning about history, culture, and the human stories behind both immigration and the fight for freedom.

A cozy stay in Rewa and a stroll through Gdańsk’s Old Town made the experience even more memorable. Days full of learning, reflection, and inspiration that our students won’t forget! ❤️📚

✨From the surveys conducted among the students, it appears that they really enjoyed visiting both museums, exploring the Old Town in Gdańsk, and they were also delighted with traveling by train across Poland!🚅
