Due to the difficultites connected with working during the COVID-19 pandemic, we stil provide the opportunity to publish academic articles undergoing the Polish academic evaluation for the years 2017-2021. Authors willing to undertake this opportunity are

“Family Upbringing” periodical publishes only previously unpublished academic articles, that is original research results (both carried out with quantitative and qualitative methodology) as well as meta-analyses. The periodical accepts articles covering the topic of family from the perspective of various academic disciplines. The common ground of the published papers is the historical and contemporary context of the widely understood family upbringing.

The periodical does not publish reviews nor reports, which are not academic (research) articles.

According to the guideline of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science publishing an article in the “Family Upbringing” periodical is awarded with 40 points (position 31263 of the official list of academic periodicals and reviewed conference materials: https://www.gov.pl/web/edukacja-i-nauka/nowy-rozszerzony-wykaz-czasopism-naukowych-i-recenzowanych-materialow-z-konferencji-miedzynarodowych).

To ensure the highest quality of the articles published in the “Family Upbringing” periodical, as well as to ensure the continuity of the consecutive editions of the periodical, the editorial board has changed the publication procedure, dividing it into two phases: review and publication. The rules of financing have also changed, as currently the periodical is mostly self-financed. Thus, a two-phase fee has been introduced:
- fee for the review of an article: 300 PLN for Polish language articles (100 EUR for English language articles), which covers the costs of the review procedure. This fee does not ensure receiving a positive review. This fee is not returned in the case of a negative review of the article.
- fee for the publishing of an article: 1250 PLN for Polish language articles (400 EUR for English language articles). This fee is covered by the Authors of the articles, which have received two positive reviews and are thus qualified for further publication procedure.

Articles in the periodical are published in the open access format under the CC-BY-SA licence, which means that every Author has the right to publish their article on the internet under the clause of mentioning the “Family Upbringing” periodical as the place of the original publication

To maximise the academic impact of the articles published in the “Family Upbringing” periodical the Editorial Team disseminates the articles in the Repository of the University of Wrocław, Digital Library of the University of Wrocław, in the academic periodicals databases: DOAJ, Index Copernicus, POLindex, CEEOL, BazHum, CEJSH, CEON, ARIANTA, EBSCO, ERIH plus, as well as on the portals: Academia Edu, Reasearchgate, and Googlebooks. At the same time, the Editorial Team undertakes steps to introduce the periodical into further databases.

The periodical is affiliated at the Institute of Pedagogy of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences of the University of Wrocław (Poland), and the Publisher of the periodical is: EDUsfera. Ewa Jurczyk-Romanowska, NIP 5471830063, REGON 385633764. The Editor in Chief of the periodical is: prof. zw. dr hab. Stefania Walasek. Currently, the hitherto cooperation with the University of Wrocław is being negotiated.

"The proposed title of the conference addresses the diverse and complex problems of macro- and micro-social scale. Beginning of the 21st century raises the issues of population’s migrations in the political, economical and cultural aspect.
It is not a new phenomenon, as Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries has already experienced similar processes. Also in
the microscale, family entangled in economical, cultural and political relations experiences support, but also danger. An
important role here may be played by psychological and health relations. Diverse situations in which this most important
social cell fulfils its tasks may lead to the feeling of stabilisation, but also to a conflict of interests of its members and to danger of its functioning."

We kindly invite all academics and teachers of Universities and Colleges as well as everyone interested in family to take part in the "Family Upbbringing" 2016 conference.

The conference will take place in Poland on 19th-21st of May 2016.

The participants will be able to voice their studies and opinions in family discourse by publishing papers in the following issues of the journal “Family Upbringing” (ISSN: 2082-9019, eISSN: 2300-5866) – the electronic version is available on the website: www.wwr.uni.wroc.pl. The journal is indexed in numerous databases. The organisers plan also to publish Book of abstracts of conference papers.

During the plenary session organisers provide Polish-English translation. Topical sessions will proceed in Polish or English, depending on the preferences of the participants. The organisers also consider the possibility to organize a Russian language session at the demand of at least 12 participants who prefer Russian.
