🎓 Professor Zdzisław Śliwa represented the Institute of International and Security Studies (University of Wrocław) at the international seminar “European Security Architecture in Times of Geopolitical Uncertainty: the French-Polish Perspectives”, held on 8 December 2025 at the University of Warsaw 🇪🇺🇵🇱🇫🇷
🛡️ Professor Śliwa participated as an expert speaker in a panel devoted to the impact of the war in Ukraine 🇺🇦 on EU security policy and took part in a round-table discussion with leading scholars and practitioners in the field of European and international security. His participation highlights ISMB’s active presence in high-level international discussions on contemporary security challenges 🌍

And from 2:00 pm:
• a Christmas market in the hall of the Institute of Political Science,
• "Around the Christmas table" – an international integration meeting (quiz with prizes, writing letters to Santa) in the PuFa+ zone.
This is a great opportunity to meet, celebrate together, and enjoy the holiday atmosphere across our international community.

🧠 We are pleased to invite you to an online lecture titled “A Neuroscience Approach for Navigating Change through the Lens of Conflict”, which will take place on 17 December at 4:30 PM on Zoom.
🎓 The lecture will be delivered by Susan Levin, Instructor in the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies, where she teaches on the complexity of conflict and change management.
BIO Susan Levin is an Instructor in Complexity of Conflict and Change Management in the Negotiation and Conflict Resolution program at Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies. She has extensive experience in teaching and training on conflict dynamics, change processes, and practical strategies for navigating complex organisational environments. Susan has presented her work, including the talk “A Neuroscience Approach for Navigating Change through the Lens of Conflict,” to various professional audiences, including the Association for Conflict Resolution – Greater New York Chapter. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of neuroscience, conflict resolution, and change management, with a focus on translating theory into accessible tools for practitioners and students.

🌎 On 15 November, a delegation from the University of Wrocław took part in the European Master in Global Studies - EMGS Graduation Ceremony 2025 and the 20th anniversary celebration of the European Master in Global Studies in Leipzig. The event featured awards, graduate presentations, and the premiere of the film “20 Years of EMGS”.

🎓 We are delighted to announce the launch of the joint module “Disinformation as a Global Challenge: Women, Gender, and Identity under Fire of Fake Perception of the World,” developed by the Institute of International and Security Studies and the School of Politics, Security, and International Affairs (University of Central Florida).
Led by Dr Katarzyna Jędrzejczyk-Kuliniak (Uniwersytet Wrocławski) and Prof. Annabelle Conroy (University of Central Florida), the four-week program brings together 95 students from both universities to explore how disinformation affects gender, identity, and equality in global contexts.

📅On 27 October 2025, the Institute of International and Security Studies at the University of Wrocław hosted Dr Roman Urban from Ambis University in Prague.
Dr Urban delivered a guest lecture for third-year National Security students entitled “Crisis Management in the Czech Republic.”
🇨🇿 During the session, students learned about the origins and specific features of the Czech crisis management and civil protection system, as well as about key documents, institutions, and their roles in the crisis management process.
🌍The lecture was organised within the Erasmus+ Teaching Mobility programme.

🇪🇹 Dr hab. Andrzej Polus, Associate Professor at the University of Wrocław, took part in the “Pulse of Africa” programme produced by the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA). According to the editors, he is the first Polish expert to appear in this format.
🇪🇹 “Pulse of Africa” is a media platform that presents African perspectives on social, economic, and cultural development. The channel highlights ongoing transformations across the continent and gives space for African narratives to be communicated internationally.
🇪🇹 The interview focused on Africa’s position in the global system, development challenges and the role of international cooperation.
