📌 Open Lecture # 2 "Social History and Jewish-Christian Relations in the XX century - Key Questions"
Dr. Kamil Kijek spoke about the political history of Polish Jews in the second half of the 19th and in the 20th century while collapsing the usual boundaries applied to this period by integrating pre-1939, Holocaust and post-Holocaust periods and focusing on the problems of continuity and discontinuity in modern Polish Jewish history.
Dr. Kamil Kijek is a leading social and political historian of Polish Jewry who was involved in the creation of the exhibition in the Polin Museum in Warsaw. The English translation of his enthusiastically received monograph Children of Modernism is currently being prepared for publication.

Our master classes and seminars focus on three key areas of Jewish life and experience in Eastern Europe. The first track, Hasidism, examines the history of a major Jewish popular mystical movement that is flourishing worldwide. Our excellent faculty members and world-renown guest lecturers will guide you into the social and cultural history of Hasidism, the piety and social life of hasidic leaders and the rank-and-file, and Hasidic-non-Hasidic encounters. Digital Hasidism as well as, Hasidic stories, mystical thought, and practice are some of the many other topics to be explored.
