LELENFANT 2026 IN THE MEDIA | WROCŁAW AS THE NEST OF HOPE

Lelenfant does not start when young people arrive in Wrocław in July. And it does not finish when the lights go down after the Final Show.

In 2026, our story was present in the media from February to August:

40+ media publications
6+ in-depth radio and TV conversations
8 press releases and media mailings
3 radio campaigns

But behind these numbers there is a bigger story.

After five editions, Lelenfant has built an international community and a recognisable place on Wrocław’s cultural map. This year, we wanted to show Wrocław as the Nest of Hope — a city where young people from different parts of the world meet local communities, stay with host families, create together and experience belonging beyond borders.

2026 also opened a new chapter with Lelenfant on the Trails of Nature in the Barycz Valley, bringing professional art to young people and connecting artistic work with nature.

From host families and neighbourhood activities, through the Trails of Nature, the international gathering and the Great Lelenfant Parade, to Nest of Hope at Capitol Musical Theatre — the media followed the people, ideas and values behind Lelenfant, from our February solidarity event with friends and an artistic group in Iran.

THE PEOPLE WHO HOLD THE NEST | VOLUNTEERS | LELENFANT 2026
Some people hold the Nest by simply being where they are needed, when they are needed. 🤍

During Lelenfant 2026, 12 volunteers joined our international community and helped us hold the everyday life of the project.
Sometimes it meant accompanying young people through an intense day. Sometimes helping during workshops, rehearsals, the Parade or the Grand Finale. Sometimes solving an unexpected problem.
And sometimes it was as simple as bringing someone a glass of water or sweeping the floor.
Because in a project bringing together 70 young people from different countries, cultures and languages, volunteering is not only about big tasks.
It is about being present. Paying attention. Seeing what needs to be done — and doing it. 🫶

🪺 THE PEOPLE WHO HOLD THE NEST | LELENFANT 2026

The Grand Finale is what the audience sees.
But Lelenfant is everything that happens before the curtain rises.

Today we celebrate the people on the frontline of the artistic and educational process — working every day with children and young people, building trust and care while doing the demanding creative work that eventually brings 70 young people together on one stage. 🤍
They bring different artistic languages and practices into one shared process:

🔥 Mateusz Godlewski — breaking & B-boy culture
🎭 Hanna Daniszewska — theatre
💃 Natalia Drozd — dance & choreography
🎵 Ehssan Chameiy — music & intercultural artistic practice
🎭 Sonia Śpiewak-Meres — theatre & dramaturgy
🫶🏾Anthony Wachira - actobatics

🌍 Together, they bring practices rooted in decolonial and intercultural approaches to arts education.
Behind the Final Show were months of work:
✨ 20 hours of preparatory & evaluation workshops based on the Kids Teach Kids methodology
✨ 40 hours of artistic workshops
✨ 50 hours of rehearsals & Kids Teach Kids workshops
✨ countless hours of instructors’ meetings, planning and creative work
✨ public performances, the Lelenfant Parade and finally the Grand Finale at Capitol Musical Theatre
At the heart of it all is a delicate balance: knowing when to lead, when to listen, when to offer a tool — and when to step aside so young people can take ownership of the process.
🪺 The preparation and care of this process was held by Mary Sadowska-Łakomy, combining her experience in directing and facilitating large international groups with her background in psychology and training.
Thank you for holding the Nest where it matters most — in the everyday work with young people. 🤍

Behind every group of young people who came to Wrocław, there was someone holding the space for them. 🌍🤍
For almost half a year, our group leaders were part of the Lelenfant journey – preparing, supporting, caring and building this experience together with us.
They supported not only the young people, but our whole community, generously sharing their knowledge, experience, stories and cultures.

🪺 What is hope in Lelenfant?
It is not the naïve belief that we can change the world overnight.
It is not blind trust that the future will somehow become easier, while so many of us live with geopolitical tensions, uncertainty, ecological collapse, and everyday grief.
It is not pretending that life is always joyful.

✨ Hope in Lelenfant is something quieter. More tangible.

It is the moment when my story is truly seen, and when I begin to trust that other human beings can hold it with care.
When I make space for someone else’s story, and they make space for mine. 🤍

It is standing on stage and realizing that what the audience is witnessing is not just a performance, but something we have created together—across languages, cultures, fears, and dreams.

Every summer, here in Wrocław, young people from different corners of the world build something that can only be called a Nest. 🌍

🪺 LELENFANT – The Nest of Hope.
Because sometimes hope is not a promise about the future.
Sometimes hope is simply a place where we discover, together, that another way of being with one another is possible.
A place we choose to belong. A place where we feel fully alive.
