‼️ Rector Scholarship information - PART 2

It's been brought up to our attention that the declarations screen in the USOS scholarship application is in Polish, therefore we wanted to translate the statements there.

First box: "Attach the filled out Declaration to your application" (linked in red) - this is the 12th Appendix that you need to hand in together with your printed USOS application at the Students Affairs Centre. We've been told that if you hadn't printed it, there's a possibility that you were able to fill it out in the office - either way make sure that you gave this document in the office alongside your printed out USOS application. The translated 12th Appendix is below.

Second box: "Aware of the criminal and disciplinary liability under Article 307(1) of the PSWiN Act, I declare that the statements and attachments I have submitted are true."

Third box: GDPR information

Fourth box: "Write down the total number of semesters you've ever been on (completed and on-going):"

‼️ Rector Scholarship information

The applications for the Rector Scholarship have been opened but this year brings a few changes to the process! Please read the information below carefully.

1. You're eligible to apply if your average grade in the last academic year was 4,20 and higher.
2. The scholarship is awarded to the best 10% of students at the Faculty. Points are given for your grades, scientific and/or sport and artistic achievements. The point threshold depends on how many people apply each year and how many points they have. The decisions are usually handed out in December.
3. This year you have to fill out an application in the USOS system first! You can find it in the "Common Section" under "Applications".
4. Once you register your application in the USOS system, you MUST hand in a paper version of the document and necessary proof for other achievements (e.g. publications) to the Student Affairs Center (room number 3) in person or via mail.
5. If the average grade in your USOS application is incorrect please reach out to the Dean's Office! You have to verify it before you print it.
6. Deadline for applying: 20th October

If you have any problems with the application or documenting your achievements, don't hesitate to reach out to us! 😊

In the upcoming exam time, we wish everyone good grades, a lot of patience, favourable questions and satisfaction with your own work 🤓
Remember to take a well-deserved rest both during and after the exam session 🌴🍹
We keep our fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻❤️

On May 20th we celebrate World Bee Day 🥳🐝
For this occasion, we asked Paweł Chorbiński, DSc to give us some information about the bees and how to protect these animals. We are very grateful for the Professor's help and we encourage you to read the information and to look on the photos from classes at the university apiary 🐝🐝🐝
👉🏻 The role of the honey bee as a pollinator of the plant is becoming more and more important, because in the following years there is a reduction in the number of cultivated plant species, and many plants that bees like have also been withdrawn from cultivation.
👉🏻 The widespread cultivation of plant monocultures causes that to some extent there is an excess of nectar in relation to the number of bees (e.g. r**e), and even its lack (mainly in summer), which is reflected in the development of bee colonies.
👉🏻 According to experts, honey bees pollinate entomophilic plants that benefit humans 10 times, 30 and even 100 times more benefits than as producers of honey or other apiary products.
👉🏻 The use of pesticides in agriculture and structural changes causes rapid decrease in the number of wild bees
👉🏻 The living conditions of the honey bee have deteriorated in recent year because of new pathogens and climate change. Every year, up to 15% of the bee population dies and is recreated by the owners of the apiary.
👉🏻 In order to improve the bee conditions it is necessary to support the food base by planting or sowing honey plants, create flower meadows and allow them to nest, in which bee hotels can be helpful. It is also worth considering to limit the pesticides in orchards and gardens.

In The World Veterinary Day we wish all vets a lot of passion, perseverance and satisfaction from your job and to all the veterinary students the strength and enjoyment from every element of your uni journey 🐮🐶🩺

Happy, peaceful, and joyful Easter! 🐰 Try to rest and recharge your battery 🫶🏻
