Title of the project: Bilingual education. MA in teaching English to young learners as a second and foreign language. The main aim of the project is to increase the level of education by developing and launching the new graduate programme in teaching English to young learners with special focus on content and language integrated learning (CLIL ) and bilingual education. The project dates are from March 3, 2014 until June 26, 2015. The specific project objectives include:
Increasing the knowledge base and skills of at least 50 students and 15 teachers in the area of language education with special focus on CLIL, bilingual education, language assessment and information technology. Enriching the experiences of University of Warsaw faculty by using the Partners’ expertise in teacher education as well as by implementing new student teacher development tools such as teaching portfolio. Strengthening transnational cooperation among Partner universities are involved in teacher education: University of Warsaw, University of Jyväskylä, University of Ljubljana and Umea University. The Partners have established the following joint objectives:
a. Constructing the MA program in teaching English to young learners strengthened by the Partners’ expertise in teaching English in CLIL and bilingual contexts
b. Becoming familiar with contexts and methods of English language teaching in various centers across Europe
c. Implementing CLIL to language teacher education
d. Strengthening the role of student teaching in teacher education based on the Partners’ experiences and models
e. Strengthening the role of various tools of professional development such as teaching portfolio and action research to language teacher education
The programme is open to all international and Polish applicants interested in the field of Bilingual Education or CLIL at early stages of education and therefore it is designed for:

-The graduates of Faculty of Education specializing in early language teaching (first cycle, Bachelor’s degree)

-The graduates of foreign language teacher training colleges (first cycle, Bachelor’s degree)

-The graduates of English philology and applied linguistics (first cycle, Bachelor’s degree)

-The graduates of Early childhood education (first and second cycle, Bachelor’s and Master’s) with language proficiency at B2 level

-The graduates of Teacher training colleges at B2 level

International students with previous teacher education background and B2 level

Projekt ponadnarodowy, zatytułowany „Nauczanie Dwujęzyczne. Studia drugiego stopnia w języku angielskim” (nr umowy: POKL.04.01.01.-00-087/13-00) współfinansowany w ramach IV Priorytetu Szkolnictwo wyższe i nauka, Działania 4.1. Wzmocnienie i rozwój potencjału dydaktycznego uczelni oraz zwiększenie liczby absolwentów kierunków
o kluczowym znaczeniu dla gospodarki opartej na wiedzy, Poddziałania 4.1.1 Wzmocnienie potencjału dydaktycznego uczelni, Programu Operacyjnego Kapitał Ludzki, skierowany jest zarówno do studentów, zainteresowanych studiowaniem w języku angielskim w obszarze zintegrowanego kształcenia przedmiotowo-językowego, jak i do nauczycieli- praktyków, którzy chcieliby doskonalić swój warsztat uczestnicząc w międzynarodowych szkoleniach
i tematycznych spotkaniach; także do tych nauczycieli-specjalistów, którzy chcieliby się swoją praktyczną wiedzą podzielić. Projekt zawiera ofertę studiów II stopnia przygotowujących do pracy w szkołach i przedszkolach publicznych i niepublicznych w roli nauczyciela języka angielskiego, nauczyciela treści przedmiotowych w języku angielskim oraz nauczyciela dzieci dwujęzycznych. Studia w całości prowadzone są w języku angielskim. Skierowane do:
-absolwentów I stopnia Wczesnego nauczania języka angielskiego
-absolwentów nauczycielskich kolegiów języka angielskiego
-absolwentów I i II stopnia filologii angielskiej i lingwistyki stosowanej
-absolwentów I i II stopnia edukacji wczesnoszkolnej i przedszkolnej (wymagany wstępny poziom języka B2 lub wyższy – w rekrutacji brana będzie pod uwagę punktacja)
-absolwentów kolegium nauczycielskiego (wymagany wstępny poziom języka B2 wyższy – w rekrutacja brana będzie pod uwagę punktacja)
-studentów zagranicznych, absolwentów kierunku pedagogika przedszkolna i wczesnoszkolna

Projekt jest też ofertą zarówno szkoleniową jak i otwartej współpracy dla czynnych zawodowo nauczycieli przedszkoli i nauczania wczesnoszkolnego z praktyką w klasach 1-3. Rekrutacja do projektu zarówno dla Studentów-kandydatów na dwujęzyczne studia stacjonarne, jak i dla Nauczycieli pragnących wziąć udział w weekendowych międzynarodowych warsztatach i hospitacjach w szkołach dwujęzycznych, rozpoczyna się 9 czerwca.
