Really inspiring to see how the Energy Literacy for Youth - ELY project keeps turning energy into a tool for youth empowerment 💡🌍

Over the past weeks, we organised a Train of Trainers and an energy training, bringing together young people, educators, and activists to explore topics such as the energy transition, climate justice, and participation.

Beyond sharing knowledge, we are creating spaces where young people can better understand, question, and shape Europe’s energy future ⚡️

A huge thank you to all participants, partners, and facilitators who made these activities possible 💚

Energy poverty isn’t just a concept.
It’s something people are already feeling.

Across Europe, more and more people are worried about:
→ paying their energy bills
→ keeping their homes warm
→ dealing with unpredictable prices

Recent EU data shows strong public support for better protection against rising energy costs.

Because this isn’t only about systems or policies.
It’s about everyday life — and the trade-offs people are forced to make.

A war far away means that your energy bill goes up 📈

The reason? Around 20% of the world’s oil passes through one single route: the Strait of Hormuz.
When it becomes unstable, prices react immediately.

That’s how fossil fuels work.
Dependent. Fragile. Political.

Renewables?
They don’t pass through shipping routes.
They don’t depend on conflicts.

They’re not perfect, but they are more stable.

Energy isn’t just about climate.
It’s about how exposed you are to everything else.

Energy systems feel technical. Neutral. Objective.

They’re not.

Even things like office temperatures
have been designed around one type of body.

So… who are our systems really built for?

This Women’s Month, we’re breaking it down —
one concept, one minute.
