🟢The Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw, is accepting applications for a full-time Early Stage Researcher position for a maximum of four months (April-July 2023). The position is part of SAPIENS, a pan-European Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (EU Horizon 2020 Programme), which aims to investigate how the dynamics of early social exchanges support the development of the social brain (see: www.sapiens-itn.eu).
The candidate employed for this position has a Master’s degree and can already be enrolled in a Ph.D. program but has not received the doctoral degree yet. Based on an existing dataset, the candidate will investigate how motor and vocal coordination shape a child’s cognitive, emotional, and language development with correlational analyses. The candidate will write a report based on the findings with the possibility of writing an article. As the job is only short-term, we are looking for candidates with experience with correlational analyses and writing articles that can work fast and independently.

The Experimental Linguistics Laboratory of the Faculty of Modern Languages (Experimental LingLab UW) will present their research at the 1st international humanities society identity congress (uw.edu.pl).
Research Group Session 1: Multilingualism: Learning vocabulary and grammar in the third language (L3)
Session devoted to the question of learning the third language and a potential impact of other languages on the acquisition of L3 lexicon and grammar. The questions to be considered are, among others, the adaptation of Vocabulary Knowledge Scale to measure L3 lexical learning and the raising awareness of cross-linguistic similarity to benefit from cognates.
