🐉🚣‍♀️ The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the most important and spectacular festivals in China! 🇨🇳

It’s a unique tradition dating back over 2,000 years, during which colorful dragon boats race across rivers and lakes, drawing crowds of spectators. The festival commemorates the poet and patriot Qu Yuan, and its celebrations blend history, culture, and athletic competition.

Zongzi—traditional rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves—are also an integral part of the festival. 🌿🍚

This extraordinary event showcases the richness and vibrancy of Chinese culture, which has been cherished by generation after generation.

We have just concluded our discussion, "With Dragons Among the Stars: China's Space Program and Chinese Perspectives on International Space Law." The event provided a space for a multi-faceted analysis of a field that has definitively moved beyond science fiction, becoming a arena of intense geopolitical and economic competition. 🛰️

During the panel, we examined the dynamics of the Chinese space program, including the completion of the Tiangong space station and China’s lunar and interplanetary missions. The discussion allowed us to contrast technological perspectives with modern market realities—comparing China's highly centralized state model with the Western approach based on public-private partnerships and the "New Space" sector (represented, among others, by the Artemis program).
A critical point of the debate was the regulatory challenge. Contemporary geopolitical dynamics prove that international space law, rooted in Cold War realities, requires urgent adaptation. We discussed patent law, intellectual property, and how Beijing seeks to shape new norms and design its own institutional frameworks, exemplified by the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) project. 🛰️

These topics were analyzed from geopolitical, legal, and business perspectives by our speakers: Krzysztof Karwowski (Układ Sił / SGH), Michał Jabłoński (PFPK / SGMK), and Zuzanna Rajkiewicz (PFPK). We thank them for their expert analysis and all attendees for their presence and substantive discussion. 🤝

The event was co-organized by the Students' Scientific Club "State and Economy" (Koło Naukowe "Państwo i Gospodarka") and the Students' Scientific Club of International Air and Space Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw (Koło Naukowe Międzynarodowego Prawa Lotniczego i Kosmicznego WPiA UW).

On May 13, we had the immense pleasure of co-hosting the expert panel “The New Division of the World: The PRC-EU-US Geopolitical Triangle.” We would like to thank the other academic clubs, the Forum of Young Diplomats Forum Młodych Dyplomatów , and the BIRM Institute (Instytut Bezpieczeństwa i Rozwoju Międzynarodowego), Pacific Region Studies Student Club Koło Państw Obszaru Pacyficznego for their collaboration, and we look forward to more opportunities to work together! 🎓

🎤The debate featured prominent foreign policy experts: Prof. Bohdan Góralczyk, Ph.D., Prime Minister Janusz Piechociński, and Prof. Zbigniew Czachór, Ph.D. The presence of such important and colorful guests meant that listening to their conversation not only taught us a great deal but also left us with many thoughts and a desire to learn even more!

🗣️The dynamic and substantive discussion was expertly moderated by Krzysztof Jaworski and Mateusz Kulig. Their precise questions, structural guidance, and ability to balance the complex threads of the debate ensured a high-level exchange of insights and kept the audience fully engaged throughout the event.

🌏Our speakers addressed topics such as U.S.-China rivalry, the impact of tensions between the superpowers on Europe and the European Union, and changes in the global order. The complex relationships among the world’s three largest economic powers—the United States, the European Union, and the People’s Republic of China—are one of the keys to the process of redefining this very order.
Thank you for coming in such large numbers and for your engagement during the panel. See you at our next events!🙌

Another inspiring session of the 2nd edition of the China Law Academy is behind us! This time, our participants had the unique opportunity to visit the headquarters of LOT Polish Airlines and learn directly from industry practitioners. 💼

The meeting focused on two core pillars essential to the global operations of Poland’s national carrier:

Intellectual Property in Aviation: We explored the practical role of trademark protection, managing brand identity on an international scale, and the legal challenges associated with securing a global airline brand. ⚖️

Strategic Expansion in Asia: We gained valuable insights into LOT’s long-haul operations within the highly competitive Asian market, analyzing how geopolitical and economic legal frameworks influence corporate development strategies. 🌏

The presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session, where participants discussed market challenges, regulatory compliance, and the dynamics of commercial aviation between Europe and Asia. 🗣️

Thank you to the legal and business experts at LOT Polish Airlines for hosting us and sharing their invaluable expertise, and to all attendees for their active participation and insightful questions! 🤝
