✨ MEET THE FOUNDERS ✨
Tap It Up was founded by husband-and-wife team Joanna and Chris Ernest—professional performers and experienced educators whose lives have been shaped by dance, theatre and international performance.
Their story began in Łódź in 1999, when Chris arrived with the international production of "Tap Dogs" and Joanna was dancing professionally at the Łódź Opera House. What began backstage grew into a shared life, a family, and eventually Tap It Up.
Joanna trained at one of five Polish National Ballet Schools in Łódź, and has worked internationally across theatre, film and television, including "The Phantom of the Opera" movie. She is a choreographer, holds a BA in Dance Pedagogy and has completed specialist teacher training at The Juilliard School in New York.
Chris is a British professional tap performer and educator who toured the world with "Tap Dogs". He brings extensive experience in tap, musical theatre, drama (completed specialist teacher training at The Juilliard School in New York) and performance, also the energy, humour and discipline of a life spent on stage.
Together, they founded Tap It Up in 2016 to give young people in Poland inspiring performing arts training in English—developing creativity, confidence and a genuine love of performance.

Joanna i Chris Ernest to małżeństwo profesjonalnych artystów i pedagogów, które stworzyło Tap It Up z miłości do teatru, tańca i edukacji artystycznej.
Poznali się w Łodzi w 1999 roku, gdy Chris występował z "Tap Dogs", a Joanna tańczyła w Teatrze Wielkim. Joanna jest absolwentką szkoły baletowej, choreografką, posiada tytuł pedagoga tańca i jest Juilliard Creative Classroom Specialist. Chris to brytyjski tancerz tap dance i pedagog z międzynarodowym doświadczeniem.
Od 2016 roku wspólnie pomagają młodym ludziom rozwijać kreatywność, pewność siebie i radość występowania—w języku angielskim.
