The shortest day of the year marks a turning point: from now on, daylight slowly returns ☀️
It’s a time for family gatherings and sharing tangyuan 🍡, symbolizing unity and togetherness.

More than just a seasonal change, Dongzhi represents balance, renewal, and the beginning of a new cycle in nature ⚖️🌱

Christmas is just around the corner! 🌟

🎄🎅🏻 This Tuesday we celebrated Warsaw-Beijing Forum Christmas Eve together!

🎁We brought Christmas decorations, sweet and savory snacks, and created a magic atmosphere in the hall. 🍪⭐️ Of course we couldn't forget about pandas 🐼!

We spent this time together chatting, eating delicious food, and playing Kahoot. Our Alumni and the Association’s academic supervisor Piotr Grzebyk also visited us, they shared the history of WBF and reminisced about their experiences in the project. Thank you for the wonderful speeches! 🎤

It was a wonderful few hours that allowed us to feel the holiday spirit and take a break from studying. Once again, 圣诞快乐,新年快乐!🎄🎅🏻🎁⭐️

On Saturday, December 13, we had the pleasure of hosting students from CSSA UW during an integration meeting organized by the Warsaw Beijing Forum. 🇨🇳🇵🇱

Representatives of CSSA UW (Chinese Students and Scholars Association at the University of Warsaw) introduced us to the activities of their organization. CSSA UW serves as a bridge between the Chinese Embassy in Poland and Chinese students, supporting them in communication with the embassy, helping to disseminate official information, and actively promoting Chinese culture as well as international cooperation. We also presented the activities of the Warsaw Beijing Forum to our guests.🤝

The purpose of the meeting was integration and cultural exchange, especially in a festive, winter atmosphere. It was a great opportunity to get to know each other better, talk, laugh, and discover new traditions and customs - both Chinese and Polish. Each participant had the chance to introduce themselves and share something about themselves, which encouraged the formation of new friendships and connections.🎎

🍽️ There was also a shared tasting of various treats. Students from CSSA UW brought Chinese snacks for us to try, while we shared traditional Polish delicacies such as pickled cucumbers, Delicje biscuits, and other classics. Additionally, we played an integration game of Kahoot focused on Polish and Chinese traditions, which brought a lot of excitement and laughter.

It was a very successful meeting that allowed us not only to learn more about Chinese culture but also to spend time together in a warm, festive atmosphere. Thank you all for your presence. We are already looking forward to our future joint initiatives! 🎄🌍✨

✨On November 27th, members of the Warsaw-Beijing Forum participated in the Chinese-Polish Youth Film Meeting: "Light and Shadow – Together Towards the Future", held at the Luna Cinema and co-organized by Chinese Embassy in Poland

🎥 We had the privilege of watching the historical drama "Dead to Rights", directed by Ao Shen—China's official submission for the upcoming 98th Academy Awards. The film powerfully illustrates how photography can serve as both a testimony to wartime atrocities and a tribute to the heroism of those who defied the brutal occupation.

🤝 A core mission of our project is to deepen our understanding of Chinese society, including its rich history. "Dead to Rights" is based on historical evidence. Thus, it provided us with profound insight into the resilience and hardships of the Chinese people. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chinese Embassy for enabling us to have such a meaningful experience.

📽️ On Wednesday November 19th Warsaw-Beijing Forum members had the pleasure of visiting the Muranów Cinema as part of the 19th edition of the Five Flavours Asian Film Festival.

🇨🇳🇭🇰 We watched the Hong Kong film "The Last Dance," directed by Anselm Chan, Hong Kong's candidate for the American Film Academy Awards. It is a universal, moving story about the role of tradition and religion in a rapidly changing world, the search for one's identity between the old and the new, and humanity's relationship to transience and death. The film faithfully depicts Taoist customs, traditions, and funeral rituals, and reflects the contemporary dilemmas of the inhabitants of the Fragrant Port.

🪭 The Five Flavours Festival has been held in Warsaw since 2007. This year's 19th edition, held from November 12th to 30th, will feature over 50 films from various Asian countries, including China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand, in eight sections. The film we watched was featured in the Asian Cinerama section, which features the most popular and most frequently watched Asian films.

🎬 We also have another cinema visit coming up - follow our social media accounts, where we'll be posting updates from the events we're participating in!
