The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is organized for more than 50 years now. It is the largest and most prestigious moot court competition in the world. The White & Case International Rounds of the Jessup are held in Washington D.C. every spring. The competition is organized by the International Law Students Association. Each year thousands of students from almost 700 law schools in over 80 different countries participate in the Jessup. The competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The participants of the competition prepare written and oral pleadings. From each law school only one team may participate. The team is composed from 2 to 5 members and a coach. The winner of the National Rounds gets to represent his country and his law school in the International Rounds of the Jessup in Washington D.C.
