Maths Beyond Limits

Maths Beyond Limits is an international mathematical camp held in September in Poland

Maths Beyond Limits is a two-week-long mathematical programme for gifted high school students from around Europe held in September in Milówka, Poland. It is designed to enhance the level of education and to open new possibilities for students. Our aim is to give them a chance to spend two weeks learning about some of the most beautiful concepts in mathematics from outside the high school’s curriculum.

For the third and final block of classes, the topics on offer included finite fields, adeles and category theory. The structure of different classes varied widely: some had a large focus on solving problems, others constituted a deep dive into some area of higher maths, providing a taste of how academics think about mathematics.

Thanks to all of the tutors from every block, who each put much time and effort into preparing and delivering a thought-provoking class! Without you, there is no MBL.

As we finish our preparations for the upcoming MBL Poland, we’re super excited for the next two weeks! At the same time, we can’t help but look back on MBL Sweden and everything that made it such an incredible success. All the cool maths, the special activities, and, above all, the people reminded us just how amazing this community is.

None of it would have been possible without the support of our partners, and we’d especially like to thank Hudson River Trading. Their support helped make both MBL Sweden and MBL Poland possible, giving us the opportunity to bring people together, create unforgettable experiences, and continue growing this community.

MBL Sweden 2026 decisions are out! 🎉

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the MBL UK 2026 camp will unfortunately not be taking place. However, we’re sharing an exciting alternative. The MBL Poland team, in collaboration with the Swedish organisation Ung Vetenskapssports Matematiker, have decided to organise a camp in Sweden during the same dates. It will take place from July 24 to August 2 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The deadline to apply is June 6 and we will announce the results by June 15 (and hopefully even sooner). We encourage everyone to apply early – we will be considering applications and sending out decisions on a rolling basis. For people who applied to MBL UK, applying to MBL Sweden should be very straightforward: Qualifying Quiz problems are the same, and they are welcome to reuse your personal statement and EA and CT proposals (unless something meaningful has changed, of course!). 🎉🎉🎉
