Dear Colleagues, I am pleased to announce a call for the submission of articles for publication in the 2026 issue of the international academic journal ‘Pro Georgia. Journal of Kartvelological Studies’. The journal is published by the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw and features scholarly works devoted to Kartvelological studies. All articles submitted to the journal are subject to mandatory peer review. ‘Pro Georgia. Journal of Kartvelological Studies’ is indexed in the databases of Index Copernicus and MNiSW (Ministerstwo Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego), the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s database for academic journals. The journal is published in English.
Submissions are accepted on topics related to the history of Georgia, ethnology, source studies, Old Georgian historical writing, art history, and the history of the Georgian Church. Each article must be accompanied by an abstract and keywords. The length of the article (excluding notes, references, appendices, illustrations, and the abstract) should be 10 - 15 pages. The abstract should be 500 - 600 words in length. An author’s note - a short academic biography in English - is also required. Articles must be submitted in both Microsoft Word and PDF formats. Supplementary materials (tables, images, etc.) should not be embedded in the Microsoft Word file; they should be included only in the PDF version and placed in the appropriate locations. Submissions should be sent to the following email address: [email protected]
The deadline for submissions is April 26, 2026.
The journal ‘Pro Georgia’ has firmly established its position in the international academic field of Caucasian studies and is one of the leading scholarly publications in Kartvelological research and the dissemination of its results. The journal’s high academic standard is ensured by an international editorial board comprising scholars from Poland, Georgia, France, Spain, Japan, and Germany. In addition to research articles, the journal publishes documents, archival materials, and translations of Old Georgian ecclesiastical writings into Polish. Information about ‘Pro Georgia’ is available in international academic journal databases, and its issues are held in major libraries worldwide. ‘Pro Georgia’ is recognized as one of the most frequently cited journals in Kartvelological studies. Articles published in the journal have secured a solid position in academic discourse and are widely cited in scholarly literature. The journal continuously serves as an academic platform that promotes the presentation of research results, the development of scholarly discussion, the publication of reviews, the inspiration of new research directions, and improved access to archival materials.
