The panelists Manuel Celio Conceição (University of Algarve), François Grin (University of Geneva), Enrica Piccardo (University of Toronto) and Maria Teresa Zanola (Catholic University of Sacred Heart) engaged in a fruitful discussion on how to use plurilingual approaches in HE and develop teachers' plurilingual competences. The discussion was moderated by Kris Peeters, University of Antwerp.

🗣️ APATCHE project members Dr. Kris Peeters, Prof. dr. Nemira Mačianskienė and Assoc. prof. dr. Vilma Bijeikienė organized a Workshop Adding Plurilingual Approaches to Language Teacher Competences in Higher Education during the BIP, held by VMU on 8 June 2023.
The participants of BIP were acquainted with:
🔸 plurilingual approaches in teaching languages in higher education;
🔸 the latest developments in the European language policy;
🔸 a new tool Descriptive Scale of Plurilingual Competence created by APATCHE project team.
The participants were also challenged in a discussion on monolingual versus plurilingual approach to language learning.
Next BIP event - a post-program online call will be held by Nemira Mačianskienė on 20 June.

🗣️ On 27 April Nemira Mačianskienė and Vilma Bijeikienė organized a discussion “Adding Plurilingual Approaches to Teachers‘ Competences in Higher Education” for the multilingual and multicultural participants of International Staff Teaching Week '23 at Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania).

🗣 On 10 March Vilma Bijeikienė (VMU) visited ADA University (Baku, Azerbaijan), where she delivered a presentation on the implementation of VMU language policy.
Much attention was paid on the Apatche project as one of the best practices in VMU international cooperation to foster plurilingual competence development and internationalization.

Target group: Lithuanian primary and secondary school language teachers.

MULTIPLIER EVENT OPENING 👏
On March 17, Centre for Foreign Language Teacher Training and European Education of the University of Warsaw hosted the 1st MULTIPLIER EVENT of Apatche project.
The even was attended by a number of experts from language disciplines representing higher education institutions, including teachers, educators and project experts. The aim of the event was to present the created project results and promote the use of plurilingual approaches in HE.
