Ode to a House

A place of culture in Saska Kępa, Warsaw. A huge building with soul. Project carried out in Szkoła Otwarta, 8 grade primary school.

My name is Magdalena Napora. My passion has always been working with children and youth.
I am an English teacher, a mentor. I’d like to invite you to my language project 'An Ode to a house' inspired by the Netflix series 'The Watcher'. 🎥💡
🏠Get creative with describing buildings around you! 🏠
➡️provide or revise with your students building/architecture vocabulary (there is a lot of that in each E8 or Matura coursebook)
➡️show (optional) what the Royal Word Order looks like - so useful for eclectic descriptions!
➡️ present and discuss written forms like love letters, odes both in Polish and in English
➡️ and… let each of your student write a love letter, an ode to a house of their choice!
For inspiration, be sure you watch given parts of the series yourself. Later do the same with your students: The Watcher (Netflix), episode 6, miniature 8:30 to 12:30. Or maybe you will be interested in the entire season? After school? It's only 7 episodes! 🏦🛖🏚️🏘️
Finally, put ready, anonymous, flattering letters to the mailboxes of selected houses. Add the school's stamp on the envelope so as not to arouse anxiety among the residents. 📩
