Our special guest in the studio with Philip Sykes will be Sonya Moledina, a graduate of our Train the Trainer programme who runs a thriving coaching practice in London. ABOUT SONYA Emotional Intelligence & Social Etiquette: Children's Coach Sonya Moledina had a successful project management career for several years.

After having two children, Sonya became increasingly interested as a parent in developing her children holistically, including their social and emotional skills. As a result, her children undertook a social etiquette class.

Following a noticeable elevation in their confidence and conduct, she felt that all young people should be coached and encouraged to become their best version.

After training in etiquette and emotional intelligence with the BSE, she runs a coaching business called ‘Etiquette and Emotions’, supporting children aged 6-16 on self-development workshops and independent school entrance interview support. In her spare time, Sonya has a passion for interior design, socialising and travelling.

Making introductions can seem like a minefield of potential faux pas but following these etiquette tips will make the process much simpler:

1. Make eye contact with the person you are speaking to and then turn and look at the other person as you make the introduction.

2. Always use titles in formal situations and if you are unsure of how the person would like to be addressed it is best to state both their first and last name.

3. Try to find a topic the two people you are introducing have in common. For example: “Ben, I would like you to meet my friend Julie. She just got back from France and, since you used to live there, I thought you might enjoy talking about your experiences.”

4. You should always stand up to make introductions – this goes for both men and women.

5. Always introduce a younger person to an older person and a more junior professional to a senior professional.
