Her research interests include understanding biochemical processes important in the etiopathogenesis of depression and molecular mechanisms of action of antidepressants and antipsychotic drugs using proteomic, microscopic, and functional studies.
Her research focuses on (i) characterizing the effects of selected antipsychotic drugs on the entire proteome and nuclear subproteome of rat brain tissue and cultures of human neuronal and glial cells (ii) studying the effects of silencing selected genes on the proteome of rat brain tissue (iii) studying the effects of silencing selected genes on nervous system cell phenotype, proteome, function, and response to drug treatment (iii) studying the role of human T cell subpopulations in depression.

Analytical Chemistry – Zsolt Revay

Between 1988 and 2010 Zsolt Revay worked at the Institute of Isotopes of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and was responsible for nuclear analytics, mainly for prompt gamma activation analysis (PGAA).
After moving to Germany in 2011, took over the PGAA group at the Garching Research Reactor. From 2013, he also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry.

Science and industry – Monika Motak

Prof. Monika Motak is the Dean of the Faculty of Energy and Fuels at the AGH – University of Science and Technology in Kraków (Cracow), Poland

She is also the Head of the Group for Catalytic and Adsorption Processes in Energy and Environmental Protection at the Faculty of Energy and Fuels.

Her research focusses on the development of innovative and original catalytic materials for environmental and climate protection applications.

Special interest is paid on the use of nano-oxide materials based on nickel modified hydrotalcite as catalysts for dry reforming of methane (DRM), tri-reforming and methanation, and the optimization of the methods of preparation of active and selective catalysts for the DeNOx process obtained by the intercalation of natural montmorillonite with aluminium oxide and modification with carbon layer, or hydrotalcites containing incorporated transition metals operating at low temperature range.

Prof. Monika Motak is a member of the Polish Club of Catalysis, the Polish Chemical Society.

Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure to invite you one more time to the
1st International Conference on Applied Chemistry (ICACh 2023) which will be held in the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnow, Poland, on the 25-26th of May 2023.

Our goal is to bring together chemists as well as professionals working in areas related to chemistry, both in industry and academia, to discuss present achievements, future perspectives and applications of chemistry to answer specific questions or to solve real-world problems. We also dedicate one session to students, hoping that they will find it inspiring encouraging for further pursuing their passion for chemistry. Students’ best oral and poster presentations will be awarded with a special prize.

The papers accepted for the Conference will be published in the “Science, Technology and Innovation” – the Journal by the University of Applied Sciences in Tarnow.

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, I would like to invite the scientific community, both local and international, to participate in this event.

I hope to see you in Tarnów, 25-26th of May 2023.
