Some great News from our Hungarian Partner 🇭🇺
In Ganz Abraham Bilingual Secondary and Vocational School we have renovated the bird friendly garden🪴🌿🌳. We planted lilac trees and other flowers and herbs. We renewed the nametags of the plants. We assembled a new composter made of wood.

On the corridor of the 2nd floor we hanged up the poster which shows the names and locations of the local companies 🏭🏗️we had visited. We also hanged some more information about the visits to local companies as well as about the visits to the power plants. The second floor corridor is on the way to the secretariat, one of the most frequently used part of the school. This way all the students, teachers and also the parents can get informed about the activities and results of our Erasmus project “Our Future is Up to Us”.

From 25-29 November 2024,
the participants of the international project ‘Our Future is Up to Us’, implemented as part of the Erasmus+ programme, took part in unique activities that crowned the last partnership meeting.
Creative workshops and competition in Sosnowiec
The first day started with a creative workshop, during which the participants designed original butons and key hangers, which were then printed on 3D printers. After the artistic part, it was time for an intellectual challenge - a team game using QR codes, which tested knowledge from previous stages of the project. We ended the day with a walk around Sosnowiec, admiring its charming corners and monuments.🕍
Ecology and culture in focus
Tuesday's programme was equally rich. First, we visited the Centre for Ecological Education Exotarium, where workshops related to environmental protection took place. Then the group went to the Silesian Museum to explore the region's culture and history during a lesson on its traditions.
Krakow - a meeting with history and art🏰
Wednesday was an eventful day in Krakow. We started our sightseeing from the majestic Wawel Royal Castle and, walking through the streets of the Old Town, we reached the Czartoryski Museum. There we took an extraordinary journey through the ages, culminating in admiring the famous painting ‘Lady with an Ermine’ by Leonardo da Vinci.
Workshop in the Wieliczka underground🔦
Thursday brought another unforgettable experience - a workshop in the historic underground of the Wieliczka salt mine. The unique scenery of the place provided the perfect backdrop for dedicated activities that will long be remembered by the participants.
Gala conference - summary of activities
The final meeting had an exceptionally ceremonial character. During the conference, we summarised the project's activities to date, and the school's music band took the stage to add splendour to the event. The whole event was topped off with delicious catering prepared by a friendly school.
Thanks to everyone involved for their contribution to the success of the project! Let us not forget - OUR FUTURE IS UP TO US!

The first one is Martyna from Polish team🇵🇱.

Shaping climate awareness through a visit to Thessaloniki

Our stay in Thessaloniki was full of interesting and educational activities. We started on Monday by visiting the school of the Greek part of our team, where we were warmly welcomed and introduced to the secrets of the circular economy. After a brief introduction, we discussed our ideas for applying the knowledge we had gained and summed up the whole topic.

Tuesday was equally educational, this time we went to the hydroelectric power plant. One of the employees gave us a thorough presentation of the operation of the power plant, and more importantly, what its advantages and disadvantages are and what dangers are connected with its construction and operation. To complement our knowledge, we also talked about the use of water resources, their management and the problems that residents of the region have to face.

On Wednesday, we continued to expand our knowledge of the city. We went on a tour, which was not a typical one. After dividing into teams, we had to analyse various aspects of the city in terms of quality of life. I was assigned to the team that was supposed to test the noise level. I really enjoyed the task, and at the same time, I learned how to use a sonometer and determine what sound levels are harmful.

We spent Thursday in a sunny vineyard, where we were shown how many ecological solutions we can (and should) implement if we create a valuable product. We also reminded ourselves that every stage of production is important, but the most important thing is the quality of the used materials.

On the last day of our trip, we visited wetlands. The guides told us passionately about the importance of these areas, their fauna and flora, and the tourist's lack of respect. We visited our partners' school where we attended more activities: creating decorations from recycling, building a rockery, and designing T-shirts encouraging environmental protection.

During the trip, we met many inspiring people, made contact with teenagers who care about a better future as much as we do, learned about the local culture, and had a nice and productive time.

I believe that the trip to Thessaloniki was a great opportunity for us to develop climate awareness, have great experiences, and build memories that will last a lifetime.

Thessaloniki- many stories one heart ❤️
It’s been an amazing week.
We started with the visit at our 🇬🇷 Greek partner’s school with very inspiring seminar about Circular Economy 👌
On Tuesday we visited the Sfikia hydroelectric power plant 🏭where we learnt a lot about managing water resources.
The next day we spent in the city center having guided tour of Thessaloniki by Environmental Education Centre of Eleftherios Korthelios 🌍.
Thursday we spent at the Gerovassiliou Winery - local sustainable company which has introduced a lot environmental friendly solutions.
The last day was the busiest one. We started with the visit to the wetland of Epanomi 🦆then we created an amazing
rockery at the schoolyard and attended waste recycling workshop.
Thank you Greek team 🇬🇷

We are facing very hot days in Poland . Much hotter than usual. It is good to remember to act now as we do thanks to our project .
Climate change is here and as long as we keep things business-as-usual, it will get much worse. Why is it so important for people, companies and governments to take action now? Watch this video to find out.
And thank you for what we have done so far. I am very proud of you
