Mr. Artur Barański (European University Viadrina) will held the workshop for our Participants.

Mr. Barański is currently a research assistant at the Chair of Polish and European Private Law at the Viadrina University and doing a PhD in Transport Insurance Law. He's a lecturer in comparative German ans Polish Private Law and German Civil Law. He obtained a Law degree from the University of Poznan and European University Viadrina (LLM and First State Exam) and studied at the University of Oviedo (Spain) and University of New South Wales (Australia). He's a speaker at conferences and seminars concerning Comparative Studies on Private Law and has publication in the field of European Property and Tort Law.

We would like to present you our next lecturer- Ilona T**a.

Ilona T**a – Assistant Professor at the Department of Public International Law and European Law at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. She holds PhD in public international law (PhD thesis on international territorial administration) and master degree in political sciences (specialisation – European integration). Her fields of research include general international human rights law, international criminal law and European law (particularly the cooperation in criminal matters). She participated in several seminars and courses, e.g. Helsinki Summer Seminar on International Law: The EU in Global Legal Order, European System of Human Rights Protection (at the Viadrina University). Lately, she has been the member of the international research team of the Project “Close the deal – fill the gap” dealing with the issue of the gender pay gap. Currently, her scientific research is particularly focused on the legal status of victims of crimes in international law. She also works as public prosecutor.

Our Participants are on their way to Poznań. One of the lectures there will be held by Ms. Agnieszka Stobiecka-Kuik (Legal Service, European Commission).

Ms. Stobiecka-Kuik is a member of the Legal Service since 2003, covering in her practise as adviser and litigator among others in areas of state aid law, trade defence instruments, accession treaties, fisheries and agriculture. She obtained a law degree from the University of Poznan, holds LLM degree from KU Leuven and was a Fulbright research scholar at Columbia University. Ms. Stobiecka-Kuik is a speaker at seminars and conferences concerning state aid and anti-dumping as well as fisheries and European institutional law issues as well as an author of a number of publications in relation to those topics.

Tomorrow at 10:30 AM starts the first lecture during our Law School, held by Magdalena Półtorak.

Magdalena Półtorak is an Assistant Professor of Public International and European Law at the University of Silesia, Poland. Her academic interests concentrate on the issues concerning gender equality in the international, European and national law, focusing particularly on the analysis of legal warranties for equality of women and men in public life (esp. in politics and business), non-legislative solutions facilitating combination of career with family life, empowering women in the decision making process as well as legal (and actual) situation of migrant-women in EU. She is the author of Women - Quotas - Politics. Warranties of gender equality in the European Union (Parliamentary Publishing, 2015),
member of the EuroGender Network and consultant of the local women organization.
