Summer at Hotel Fanes: Relaxation, Yoga & Wellness in Alta Badia

A few years ago, I was probably the last person anyone would have invited to a yoga class.

Strength training, hockey, triathlon, thousands of hours of intense exercise. And on top of that, recurring back pain that neither doctors nor various therapies seemed able to solve.

I remember a time when I couldn't even sit comfortably on my heels in a simple Japanese kneeling position. My thighs felt like they were on fire, and my body was so stiff that I sweated more during yoga than I did running 10 kilometers.

Then my wife showed me a few simple yoga movements and breathing exercises.

To my surprise, the pain began to fade.

That was the beginning of a journey that has now lasted more than five years. A journey that took me from someone convinced yoga was "not for me" to becoming a yoga instructor and regular practitioner.

Today, I can't imagine starting my day without a few yoga-based movement sequences.

Not because I want to become more flexible.

But because I know how my body will feel a few hours later.

Just a few minutes each morning allows me to move through the day with greater ease, freedom, and energy. My joints work through their natural ranges of motion, my body feels more open, and tension has less chance to take control of the day.

Yoga once helped me move beyond pain.

Today, it helps me live without it.

That's why I'm delighted to invite you to Hotel Fanes in San Cassiano on June 21st for our celebration of International Yoga Day.

Together, we will explore the 5 Pillars of Wellbeing, a concept that has become the foundation of my work:

🌬 Breath – Morning anti-stress breathing session
🧘 Movement – Yoga practice inspired by Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa
🥗 Nutrition – A nourishing breakfast prepared with fresh ingredients from the family farm
🔥 Recovery – Sauna ritual with natural essences and restorative stretching
❤️ Emotions – Guided afternoon meditation

All of this surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Dolomites, the silence of the mountains, and one of the most beautiful spa experiences you can imagine.

If you happen to be in Alta Badia that day, join us.

And if you still think yoga isn't for you...

I used to think exactly the same.

SUMMER IN THE DOLOMITES

If you're looking for a place where you can truly rest — not only your body, but also your mind, heart, and soul — I invite you to Hotel Fanes in San Cassiano, in the heart of the Dolomites.

A place where the silence of the mountains, breathtaking hiking trails, and one of the most beautiful spa experiences you can imagine create the perfect space for deep regeneration.

And if you feel you need more than relaxation, I also offer sessions focused on the body, breath, stress relief, emotional balance, and nervous system regulation — all rooted in the journey of returning to yourself.

Because sometimes the best vacation is not a journey to a new place.

It's a journey back to yourself.

See you in the Dolomites.

WHEN YOU BEGIN THE JOURNEY INWARD...

Once you decide to embark on this journey, you need to understand one thing:

"It won't be easy, but it will be worth it."

Because when you truly begin living in alignment with yourself, everything changes.

Your beliefs.
Your awareness.
Your priorities.
The way you experience the world.

You start shedding uncomfortable masks.
Questioning old beliefs and rules that were handed to you.

And then something happens that most people never expect.

Your truth becomes uncomfortable for those around you.

Some people will begin to drift away — even those closest to you.

Not always because they stopped loving you.

Sometimes because this new version of you feels unfamiliar to them.

Sometimes because you no longer fit into the way they see the world.

And sometimes because your paths simply need to separate for a while.

You stop trying to save everyone.

You stop being available every time someone calls.

You stop agreeing to things that steal your peace.

You begin to set boundaries.

And boundaries have a way of revealing who was truly with you, and who was only attached to what you were giving.

This is one of the hardest lessons on this path.

Yet it is worth walking through.

Worth continuing inward, even when you have no idea where the road is leading.

Because at the end of that journey, the greatest reward is waiting for you:

The real you.

The version of yourself that, having gathered wisdom from every step inward, walks forward with confidence, lightness, and trust — in harmony with heart, mind, and soul.

Many times along the way, you will find yourself standing at a crossroads.

Tired.

Unsure.

Wondering what comes next.

And somehow, help always arrives.

Sometimes in the form of a person.

Sometimes as a sign.

Sometimes as an event that defies logical explanation.

Some call it coincidence.

Others call it fate.

More and more often, I find myself calling it angelic guidance.

But that's a story for another day.

P.S.

Today, my wife and I watched the sun disappear beyond the horizon.

And it struck me that every transformation is a little like a sunset.

Something disappears.

Something comes to an end.

Not because it was wrong.

But because it was no longer yours.

Every sunset carries the promise of another sunrise.

Something ends...

So that something new can be born.

WHERE STONE MEETS THE SOUL

There are places
you don’t simply visit,
but experience.

Recently, I visited two places in Italy.
Matera
and Valle dei Templi — ancient Agragas.

In Agragas, temples were built for the gods.
In Matera, homes were carved into stone to survive.

Two different worlds.
Yet connected by something very deep.

Stone. Silence.
And the presence of people from thousands of years ago.

These are spaces you feel deeper than history or architecture.

You walk into them
and suddenly something inside you slows down.

Your breath becomes calmer.
Your thoughts quieter.
Your body more present.

These places move us deeply, even though we cannot explain it logically.

As if the soul recognizes something faster than the mind,
and the body responds with a strange feeling of peace and return to these places… as if it wasn’t the first time.

And it was there that I felt a strange sense of déjà vu.

As if I had already been there before.
Or as if those places remembered me.

And you?
Do you have places in the world where your body seems to tell you
that the story of that place is connected to you more deeply than you can explain?

Every journey changes you!

THE COURAGE TO BE DISLIKED

There are moments
when you stop being tired of life…

and start being tired of meeting expectations.
Yours.
And everyone else’s.

“The Courage to Be Disliked”
leaves me with something simple.

And a little uncomfortable.

Maybe you don’t have to be liked.
But also…
maybe you don’t have to fix anyone.

Because somewhere along the way
we start believing
we know better.

How someone should live.
What they should understand.
When they’ll “finally get it.”

(Yes, I’ve been there too.)

But it works a bit like
correcting someone’s breathing
while holding your own.

It may come from care.
And yet… something feels off.

And then you begin to see:

how much tension was in it.
How much control dressed up as help.

And then something quieter arrives.

Relief.

Because maybe you don’t have to be for everyone.
And maybe others don’t have to be for you.

You can just be рядом.
Without fixing.
Without a “better” version.

And it feels… strangely light.

Because when you stop changing others…
something in you loosens too.

As if you’ve put down a weight
that was never yours.

And what remains is something simple:

You.
Another human being.
And a little more space between you.

For truth.
Not expectations.
