University of Marie Curie Sklodowska

Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej Faculty was then 42 professors, including from the university of Lvov and Vilnius. Studies then took the 806 listeners.

The University was established on 23 October 1944 as a state university, initially with four faculties: Medicine, Natural Sciences, Agricultural and Veterinary. In less than three months arisen fifth Faculty of Pharmacy, and the solemn inauguration of the first academic year took place on 14 January 1945.
