Your speech is grammatically perfect. Your pronunciation is perfect. Your vocabulary is impressive.

And nobody remembers a thing you said. Why?
Because sometimes perfect is boring.

AI can give you the perfect sentence. It can remove every awkward pause. Fix every grammatical mistake. Make your speech polished and professional. But should you actually want to sound like that?

Maybe the pauses are part of your voice. Maybe the imperfect sentence sounds more human. Maybe the little emotion in your voice is exactly what makes people listen.

Most of us never think about it. We speak, we present, we answer questions and somewhere along the way we lose the one thing that makes us worth listening to.

Our own voice.

Last Tuesday we spent the whole evening arguing about AI.
Can it replace human creativity? Does it feel empathy or just simulate it perfectly? Is there something in us that no algorithm will ever reach?

The room was divided. The arguments were sharp. And somewhere in the middle of it all, someone said something that stopped the conversation cold:
"The problem isn't that AI sounds too much like a machine. It's that more and more humans are starting to sound like AI."
Scripted. Flat. Predictable. Safe. And that brought us to a question nobody had planned to ask:
Do YOU sound like yourself when you speak?

On Tuesday, 25 August we're answering that question at a special masterclass:
How (not) to sound like AI: Find your authentic voice on stage.
Not a lecture. A workshop. With real exercises, real feedback, and one goal: to help you speak in a way that is unmistakably, unapologetically you.

Have you ever sat in a crowded room and still felt completely invisible?

Last Tuesday at Skillers Toastmasters talked about exactly that. The difference between being lonely and being alone. Between the silence that drains you and the silence that restores you.

The room was full. The conversations were real. And for two hours nobody felt alone. Because that's the thing about Skillers Toastmasters that's hard to explain until you experience it yourself.

Yes, we practice speeches. Yes, we work on leadership and communication. But somewhere along the way, something else happens too.

You find people who listen. Who genuinely want you to do well. Who clap not out of politeness but because they mean it. A place where it's okay to be nervous, to stumble, to try something for the first time and not get it right.

No judgment. No pressure. Just people showing up for each other, every single Tuesday.

Do superstitions rule the world? 🐈‍⬛🍀

We don't have a definitive answer. But last Tuesday at Skillers we had one of the most atmospheric meetings in a while trying to find out.

Sergiusz Kuczynski set the tone from the very first minute. As Toastmaster of the Evening, he came prepared: with a presentation for every single part of the meeting. Every transition, every moment had its own visual. The kind of detail that turns a good meeting into a memorable one.

Oryna Orel took the stage with a speech that had the whole room listening. And Tetiana Step evaluated it: the kind of honest, warm feedback that makes you want to go back up and try again.

Then Oryna Orel switched roles and ran Table Topics. Her questions were, as always 😉, sharp, original, and just unexpected enough to catch everyone off guard. The winner? Michał Morwin Mickiewicz 🏆

And this is exactly what Skillers Toastmasters is about.

Not just speeches. Not just standing in front of a room and hoping for the best.

We've all had that moment. You say the wrong thing. You walk into a glass door. You laugh at the wrong time. You forget someone's name, twice.

That's called being human. And last Tuesday at Skillers we celebrated it🙈

Our Toastmaster of the Evening, Oryna Orel opened the night with the most honest intro we've heard in a while: "I chose this topic because nobody can be more awkward than I am".
And just like that , everyone in the room relaxed. 😄

The speeches that followed were anything but awkward, actually, they were genuinely useful.

Mateusz Kieblesz shared practical tips on how to work and study effectively. The kind of advice you write down and actually use the next morning.

Iurii Slyva spoke about how to work with feedback: one of those topics that sounds simple but hits differently when someone explains it well.

Two speeches. Lots of notes taken. Zero awkward silences.

And then came Table Topics. But not the kind you know.
Filip Hojda had other plans. Inspired by the TV show "Taskmaster", he turned Table Topics into a challenge: with secret tasks, bonus points, and a whole lot of creativity under pressure. Five volunteers. One winner.

That winner? Oryna Orel! Who took home a melon 🍈

Every trip begins with a story.

Last Tuesday, during our Vacation Mode: ON meeting, we shared stories about places we've been, places we dream about, and memories that stay with us long after the suitcase is unpacked.
But the evening wasn't really about travel.

It was about experiences. About people. About stepping outside our comfort zones.
And that's exactly what we do every week at Skillers Toastmasters.

Last night was something special!

We joined forces with our language school partners Pogaduchy po angielsku for an evening that was anything but ordinary. No grammar rules. No textbooks. Just real English in action.

The room was full of exercises that made everyone think, laugh, and surprise themselves. Wordplay, quick reactions, chains of sentences, wrong answers delivered with complete confidence, and somehow, by the end, everyone was speaking more freely than when they walked in.

Table Topics brought its own little miracle: three participants were so good that the audience couldn't choose just one. Three winners. Because sometimes there's simply no wrong answer. 🏆🏆🏆

The smiles said everything.

This is what Skillers Toastmasters looks like every Tuesday. A different theme each week, a different challenge, a different version of yourself walking out the door.

We practice speaking English. We practice standing up and being heard. We practice being a little braver than the week before.
