VIII PALO International Baccalaureate School - Kraków (Poland)

The IB philosophy is to foster tolerance and inter-cultural understanding among young people through a specific method of teaching. ([email protected]).

This method of teaching incorporates critical thinking, problem solving, and exposure to a variety of viewpoints. Tim Woffenden, a leading IB consultant says: “IB students are better prepared for university, and, more importantly, life,” he comments. “They emerge mature, balanced, multi-skilled, numerate, literate and fluent in another language.”

VIII PALO have started the admissions procedure to the IB Diploma Programme Class, grade One, to follow the first-year of the two-year IB Diploma Programme. All students interested in the programme are welcome to become acquainted with the rules and conditions of the admissions procedure. Admissions to the IB Diploma Programme Class are currently being carried out on the basis of a written assignment and an interview. The details are available from the IB Programme Coordinator, Mrs Ewa Dudek. The information on the Programme is available on the following websites:

The dates of the briefings on the programme and its implementation in VIII PALO will be published in the nearest future. The admissions process to the preparatory, pre-IB, class (I P) is also underway. The class follows the curriculum of the standard Polish secondary school and prepares its students to participate in the IB Diploma Programme (among others: introduces the basics of the programme and the specific IB approach to studying, bilingual teaching). On May 31, last Saturday, a run promoting a healthy lifestyle took place on Kraków’s Błonia Commons. The event was combined with another charitable initiative—a public awareness campaign about fundraising for a sports camp for children with disabilities, organized by the AHA Foundation. Our initiative attracted the attention not only of the school community but also of passersby, whom we informed about the activities of the Erasmus Plus Club at VIII PALO. The run, led by Mr. Wojciech Micygała and Mr. Bartłomiej Adler, was accompanied by a mini picnic, for which the participants prepared healthy snacks. After the event, a portion of the refreshments was delivered to the community fridge in the Szkolne housing estate. All of this was part of the Erasmus Plus project: Think Globally, Act Locally 2, in which we are participating alongside schools from Spain, Norway, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

We wanted to inform you that the work on our school is still ongoing. DP2 students have successfully completed their CAS requirements and have finished or are finishing their exams. DP1 students are currently discussing the results of their CAS programme and are moving forward with their work.

Our ceramic, stained glass, and mosaic workshops send their greetings to everyone❤️
