Our High School Director, Emilia Bałaj, and PYP Coordinator, Aleksandra Baxter, represented Da Vinci’s at the 3-day SSIB Conference (Association of IB Schools in Poland). Gatherings like this bring together educational leaders from across the country to discuss the evolving landscape of international education.

For our school, active involvement in national IB professional networks directly enriches the student experience in several key ways:

- Continuum alignment: Ensuring smooth pedagogical transitions for students moving from primary inquiry to rigorous high school diploma studies.

- Innovative practice: Integrating updated strategies in inquiry-based learning, assessment design, and critical thinking development.

- Community connection: Collaborating with peer institutions to share insights and maintain high academic standards.

As an IB World School, we expect our students to embody the Learner Profile attribute of being "Lifelong Learners." That commitment starts at the top with our leadership team constantly seeking new perspectives to bring back to our School.

The Da Vinci's Scholarship returns in the 2026/2027 school year — a one-off award of 5 000 zł for High School students.

It goes to students of Grades 1–4 who achieve, in the annual classification:
→ a grade point average of at least 5.50
→ an exemplary behaviour grade
→ an attendance rate above 90%

The first edition showed that the bar is set genuinely high. Meeting all three criteria at the same time — results, conduct and attendance — and sustaining that across an entire school year is a real challenge. And that was the intention: the Da Vinci's Scholarship is meant to remain a distinction of a special kind.

We are continuing the programme because that kind of consistency deserves to be named publicly. In high school, every year of committed work has a direct bearing on what a student can do next — on their diploma, their applications and the options open to them. We hope to see a larger group of recipients this time.

Qualification takes place after the classification teachers' council that closes the school year, on the basis of the approved annual classification. Recipients are announced from the stage during the end-of-year ceremony, in front of the entire Da Vinci's community.

One week into the new school year — and our High School is already at full speed. 🎓

There's a familiar rhythm to September in most schools: a gentle first week, a slow build, and the real work starting somewhere around October. We take a different view.

Our students returned to full timetables from day one. Subject content began in the first lesson. DP1 started mapping their subject pathways and what the next two years will ask of them; DP2 moved straight into Extended Essay work and the deadlines that define a final year. By Friday, the year no longer felt new — it felt underway.

That isn't pressure for its own sake. The IB Diploma Programme rewards consistency far more than intensity, and two years of steady work always beats a sprint in the spring. A serious first week is the cheapest advantage a student can give themselves.

Welcome back to Da Vinci's High School! 🎓🎉

Today our students returned for the first day of the 2026/2027 school year. After a summer of rest, the corridors are full again — and so are the plans, timetables and ambitions that come with a new academic year. ✨

This year is a special one for our whole community. 🥳 Da Vinci's is celebrating its 10th anniversary: ten years of building a school where curiosity, independent thinking and an international outlook shape everyday learning. 🌍 Our High School students are the clearest evidence of what that work produces. 💙

🎯 To our students — we wish you a year of real intellectual challenge, steady effort and achievements you will be proud of. Ask difficult questions; that is what this education is for.

Some of the most valuable learning experiences happen when students take responsibility for something that truly matters.

Last semester, our DP1 students partnered with the DKMS Foundation to organise a bone marrow donor registration campaign — and they didn't stop at one event. They ran the initiative twice: first within the school, then at the Da Vinci's Family Picnic, opening it up to families and the wider community.

The project required careful planning, real teamwork, clear communication, and the ability to adapt when things didn't go exactly as expected. These are skills that cannot be developed through theory alone — and our students demonstrated all of them.

The campaign formed an important part of their CAS experience — the Creativity, Activity, Service component of the IB Diploma, which encourages students to engage meaningfully with their communities and reflect honestly on the impact of their actions.

What made this initiative particularly powerful was its real-world significance. Students were not completing an exercise. They were creating opportunities for others to potentially make a life-changing difference.

Thank you to everyone who registered as a potential donor. Your participation helped transform a student-led project into a genuine community effort.

We hope this is the first of many such initiatives from our students. 💛
